View Full Version : Insurance Survey
I would like to know 3 of your biggest complaints with Insurance and/or insurance agents for 2003 for a personal survey.
Here is my top 3 complaints for 2003
1. Claims Handling
2. Premium Increases
3. Lazy Agent
Did you have any complaints last year? If so what were they?
chunkylover58 03-18-04, 12:51 PM Price gouging, definitely. My car insurance went from $49 a month to about $75. I got a letter saying something about my credit report. I inquired about that, thinking there was a ding somewhere that I need to take care of. They said that actually my credit was excellent. In fact, I USED to get a good credit discount. They don't do that anymore. Plus, "all rates have increased across the board for EVERYONE." Thieving bastards.
Oh...get this, I had originally set up my renter's insurance to be taken out of my checking account on autodraft, just like my auto premiums. Well, they failed to set that up. Three months went by and they canceled my renter's policy due to "nonpayment." Now, they won't let me renew the policy, or even start a new one, because my account indicates a nonpayment, which disqualifies me for a renewal.
Did I mention the word "bastards"?
Number 3? "Oh, we had to drop you because you made a claim." So, if I use the service for which I am paying, they stop providing the service because I used it. :bugeye:
bastards
glaucon 03-18-04, 01:28 PM Uhhh...
How about the fact that 'insurance' should be illegal???
Let's see.. it's mandatorized gambling, wherein, if you choose not to play, you can be fined, and perhaps incarcerated.
Hmmmm.
Sounds like a pretty decent shake-down to me.....
chunkylover58 03-18-04, 01:37 PM Mentioned in another post re: insurance. It's a glorified, legalized Ponzi scheme.
Glaucon,
That is one way to look at it, but then, if you hit me while driving and destroyed my car and injured my wife, then I would go after you personally and you may be able to self insure a small accident, but if you killed 5 lawyers in a car, then you couldn't pay there surviving spouse for the loss of income of all of them could you? Think about the litigation if people didn't have insurance. You think it is bad in the U.S. now, look at what would happen without it. Just food for thought.
chunkylover58 03-18-04, 01:45 PM Besides, insurance is sinful:

The adverts for insurance is my biggest annoyance, they were all the same...and the ones that were like game shows and the contestants had to answer insurance related questions...makes you wanna hurl.
One, live and register your vehicle in one of the states that do not require liability insurance. Two, rent or lease vehicles from companies that do not require you to purchase liability, collision, or any other insurance, and do not require you to use a credit card. Three, use a car owned by someone else that is uninsured and registered in one of the states listed above. Four, never drive a motorized vehicle (except farm equipment) on public roads.
This is laughable doctrine. I myself being a christian find this form of doctrine ignorant and laughable....
chunkylover58 03-18-04, 01:58 PM Scary, isn't it?
This is scary because from reading the article on the page, they say don't associate with secular companies..
This would probably exclude the very companies that he suggest rent a vehicle from. This would exclude most of your grocery stores and department stores. Gas Stations, Courthouse, Library.... School system.. Should I go on...
cosmictraveler 03-18-04, 02:08 PM 1. The prices are to expensive

That was a hilarious link.

Insurance is just a waste of money. If they think you're the type of person who might use it, they won't let you use it. And if you aren't, then you have to.
Arrgh.
