For those that don't know, Manning is a Fat diabetic English comedian known for his racist routine for the past 30 years.
Channel 4 followed the fat bastard around India.

Manning (looking at some colonial building) :

Does that situation echo what's going on now in the world? I would answer yes.

India had a extensive culture, oldest practicing religion on earth, a tight social network, and tolerance. It was the British who came and used Indians for cheap labour, the Brits made the railways, and made some beatiful buildings. But Stalin did the same thing, I don't see Stalin loving going on ? Thankfully the Indian culture survivied imperialism. Now Jerrek has experiance with white imperialism since he was in South Africa, and is a advocate of Apartheid. And hey why do the Brits take all the Credit? You had the French and Portugese who had their own colonies. :mad:

No. When the country as a whole is doing well, everyone is doing better. Yes, the whites would probably have had a bigger advantage. However, the total effect on the country would have bettered the living conditions for all, including the black people.

I know big Bernard. He lives just up the road from me in the same house he's had for the last thirty years. Anybody can knock on his front door and he'll answer (so I'm told) in vest and underpants. If you ask him nicely he'll sign an autograph and if you mither him he'll tell you to 'fook off'. My mum used to work in his club (the embassy) cleaning tables after hours. Every christmas he used to hold a party for his staff and their families and I have memories of big fat Bernard dishing out presents and fizzy pop to all us kiddies. He is really is a conudrum. As far as I know anybody who meets him likes him and he treats everybody with equal distain regardless of the colour of their skin. He comes from 'traditional' Mancunian working class stock, speaks his mind donates significant amounts of his income to local charities and has never lived in London (if you don't understand the significance of that you will never understand where he's coming from). It seem he never understood why the chattering classes 'can't take a fooking joke.'
If Bernard really bothers you then relax. His health has declined since his Mam died a few years ago and suffering heart failure and emphasema he knows he only has a little time left. When the end comes I reckon he'll be glad to go as the world has changed to the point where he can't even take the piss out of the colour of a mans skin without having to worry about some dickhead putting a brick through your window.

Manning doesnt bother me at all. He is a sad old man, regardless of how much money he gives to charity. Bottom line is he actually does think that the white race is superior to all others, but I dont blame him, it's been ingrained in many people from that generation.

I watched the C4 program, and the stupidity of his views came accross really well, he himself proved his own ignorance.

You are right however that he is of his generation, a generation that was more conerned about class inequalities than racial ones. In this part of 'Great' Britain we're all Niggers Yup even a white boy like me. Humour is how all us different coloured Niggers get along. Bernard understands this. I can't help but wonder what the young Guardian reading graduates at channel four thought about him and how that reflected in their product.

Well, people in every country are foreign if you go back far enough. Last Iknew "the english" are saxon, angle, ie germanic, with admixture of celt, bit of pict, large chunk of danish, no hang on thats the angles, i think, norwegian etc from the Danelaw, and more form the normans, who were only a few generations from a longhsip themselves, and small admixtures of other visitors, whether french, irish, russian, italian dutch etc. But i think the last major additions to the melting pot were really 900 years ago. (except for the last 50 years)

I still think there are definite regional differences in facial structure and physique, representing local strains as it were of people.
