What should we do with them?

View Full Version : Illegal Immigrants Joeman 05-24-02, 04:15 PM What should we do with them? Xev 05-24-02, 04:20 PM Kick asswipes who refuse to defend their country out and give the space to some nice illegal immigrants. Immigrants are groovy. It's a pity we don't have room for all, but, as it stands, said asswipes are wasting valuable space. Oh well. We shall simply have to increase certain border patrols. Immigrants are groovy. It's a pity we don't have room for all, but, as it stands, said asswipes are wasting valuable space. I have heard a lot of fine arguments on both sides, but not having enough room is not one of them. Only 4% of the lands in US is developed. kmguru 05-24-02, 07:38 PM Let them develop the other 96%....da? Xev 05-24-02, 09:48 PM "you mean specifically an asswipe who is more willing to defend his friend IRL than his country over the internet?" What are you talking about? "I have heard a lot of fine arguments on both sides, but not having enough room is not one of them. Only 4% of the lands in US is developed." Could you cite a source, or would that take more than two functional neurons? Kmguru: Ah, good idea, but develop it how? Are we to give these immigrents free land tools? I think you have a good idea there. Assuming that this land exists, of course. Joeman 05-24-02, 11:21 PM Here is what I believe in this issue. We should open border for all to come. Anyone without criminal records can come. I can't see why that is not case unless if our government is racist. I don't believe you are eligible for any kind of government welfare without having a greencard. I don't believe immigrants have to learn English. I don't care aobut commiting cultural suicide. I don't think American culture is superior than cultures of any other countries. If people want a better life, let them come. I don't see any other bad consequences really. Xev 05-24-02, 11:48 PM "No I am lazy. I don't care if you don't believe me." In other words, you're not here to debate, you're here to hear yourself talk. It's not a matter of what I believe, it's a matter of providing evidence for your assertions. Any good scientist will try to do this. "We should open border for all to come. Anyone without criminal records can come. I can't see why that is not case unless if our government is racist. You do know what happens to wages when a large number of people enter the workforce all of a sudden, right? Joeman 05-25-02, 12:23 AM Originally posted by Xev It's not a matter of what I believe, it's a matter of providing evidence for your assertions. Any good scientist will try to do this. I am not a good scientist. I am lazy. I post for fun. I want to have fun without wasting a lot of time. If that little fact is very critical I will try to dig it out but it is not. You do know what happens to wages when a large number of people enter the workforce all of a sudden, right? In the short run, Yes. In the long run, Yes. You know what happens to commodity price when wages become cheaper right? Workforce increase => wages down => output increase/cost decrease => corporate profit increase and competitiveness increase against foreign companies increase => economy expand => number of jobs increase => wages UP I can argue economics if you want, but immigration is indeed good for the economy. It has been proven so there is no point for further debate. You can ask any professors about this. Right now I am more interested in hearing any social issues. |
