The human world is currently composed of many different sorts of people. In this thread I'm talking about cultures. We are different. If you had the choice between the options above, which would you choose, and why? Expanded from above: 1. All groups mingle over time until we culture becomes one homogeneous mass all over the globe. We're all the same. 2. Somehow we retain our differences, and specific cultures remain identifiable.
` I chose 2. Somehow we retain our differences, and specific cultures remain identifiable. because if we all became one homogeneous mass, there wouldn't be any spiffy new & exotic foods to try any mo'. LoL ...Not to mention any other aspects of different cultures, such as their music, literature, &tc. I'd rather the race went extinct than became one great tepid cesspit of sameness.
I wouldn't go one way or the other. I think there should be some extent of homogeny. You can take a set of individuals from a common background/culture. Throw them all together into a setting, and watch as they divide into some extent of subcultures. The members of the anime club might develop into a completely different subculture from the members of the sports club. There can be a common global uniform culture of individuality, free thinking, and equal rights. Meanwhile, various subcultures can develop according to personal interests and common experiences. And even better with a great leader with great intelligence dedicated tot he happiness of the individual.
