View Full Version : If I hear "We're doin' it for the children" one more time.... conundrum2u 06-24-03, 03:59 PM I'm gonna' f**king EXPLODE! We all know they're not doing anything for the children, but in fact for their own Ideology! James R 06-24-03, 07:59 PM What are you talking about? conundrum2u 06-25-03, 04:54 PM My sincerest apology for not being more specific. I was just reading a couple articles written by “PHILLIS SCHLAFLY” She’s often speaks with and for religious conservatives. For years, I have been hearing from that side of the argument that the only reason that they are trying to censor, ban, convert, etc. is to protect and save “The children” I also read from a few more articles the same day with the same excuse. I suppose if you still don’t understand, let the thread die! James R 06-26-03, 06:14 AM No doubt they believe their ideology is good for children, too. Mucker 06-29-03, 07:11 AM I agree!! People who say they are doing things for the children are not, they are doing it for their own ideology. I can see how what is being done is being done for the children, on one level, but this is secondary; to their own ideologies, as you said. Greco 06-29-03, 10:50 AM I guess that's better than "doing the children" spuriousmonkey 06-29-03, 11:19 AM maybe they are doing the children for doing it for the children... bhudmaash 06-29-03, 12:00 PM doing it for the childeren what the same way that men work all the hours given to them, chasing the precious dollar, while their kid's whole life passes them by, then they say "I'm just doing it for my kids":bugeye: Teg 06-29-03, 05:05 PM It is conceivable that when Bill Mahr says f**k the children he really means something quite different (okay so he probably never put it that way). Seriously it is a common statement that is ussually misinterpreted. When they say they are doing it for the children they really mean their children. They could really care less about other children. What's more they are often only convinced that they are helping their children when in fact their actions are just an extension of vanity and self interest. Remember that Andrea Yates did what she did for the children. Mucker 06-30-03, 07:27 AM I guess that's better than "doing the children" That's not funny. |
