I am a second year student and I just joined the IEEE as a student member. Is anyone here a member of IEEE? Any advice? How is the magazine? Should I sign up? Any advice would be appreciated. :)

I write a bi-monthly column, and selective issues carry the column (which normally is publicated in another text).

I suppose if the topic suits you then it's a good deal - especially if you're in school for the same or similiar education.

Not sure how much use you'll get out of it now, but once in industry it is helpful. I'm on a spec working group. It is good to have input into a specification before it is released. It's also good for contacts, etc..
