Is there a FREE way I can block my IP adress when I use the net... Surfing, and Kazaa, and messaging? I use avast antivirus, and zonealarm, so the prog cannot conflict with these...

    @ sevenblu

There is no way to private on the net, truly. If it is the RIAA or gov't agencies you are afraid of, don't use the internet. Period. Do you truly think that if they wanted to get you, a proxy would ultimately do you any good? You CAN be traced through a proxy, regardless of what anyone tells you and the anonymity programs simply set up a proxy for you and clean up your internet history, all things you can do yourself.

1 - Multiproxy is long dead.
2 - Multiproxy isn't the kind of thing needed. It only works with HTTP.

PeerGuardian is kind of weak. 3/4 of the addresses peer guardian blocks, from what I'm estimating your experience to be, you probably wouldn't need.

the first step to internet anonymity is COMPLETE BLOCKING of cookies. reject any cookie whatsoever, especially google. second, do not use internet explorer. third, always run a firewall. i have two on my computer but i disable one because it would be redundant.

First, cookies are irrelevant to P2P/filesharing. Second, two firewalls is not just redundant. If you have two software firewalls on the same system they would conflict. A firewall is supposed to be the first thing any incoming traffic hits. You can't have more than one be first. The only way they wouldn't conflict is if one was using an inferior method in an attempt to be first. In that case, you shouldn't be using that firewall. You should have one firewall properly configured and updated.
BTW, experience is irrelevant to the majority of the IPs blocked by PeerGuardian. The RIAA comes knocking if you have a sufficiently large music collection regardless of your knowledge & experience.
