I am a recent member. I am also a teenager. When I found sciforums I was delighted at finding a site on the internet that I believed I would enjoy and so far I have. This delight rendered me as a small child with a toy. I wanted to participate as much as I could and as fast as I could. Unfortunately, this made me careless. I contibuted nothing of value and abused the Free Thoughts forum. In fact, I disregarded the Thoughts all together.

A few weeks ago I started a thread entitled, rather idiodically, "Pissing". I got the idea for this thread after having used the restroom. Hence the name. In it I asked if there was any reason for the water in the bottom of a toilet. Except, my words in the thread were less carefully chosen. Because of my poor wording I only got one straight answer. Instead what I soon got was a sharing of people's delight at a particular urinating fetish. So I apologize for this thread. It was inappropriate and also, rather uncharacteristicaly, immature.

I also soon thereafter started a thread entitled CNN Dorks. Which was rather pointless (Though some people seemed to enjoy it). If anyone was offended by this thread, I again apologize.

However after reading the site feedback and getting my, now, embarassing "Pissing" thread closed I realized I was being a jackass. For this I apologize. I will from this point attempt to be less of a jackass.

I do agree that sciforums should not be allowed to degenerate into and online-after-school-hangout where there are no holds barred and much crap is allowed in. I do not agree, though, that sciforums should be closed to many people simply because they lack the life experience neccesary to contribute -or- that there should be tighter control over posting. Perhaps, and I believe this opinion has already been stated, an email should be sent to all new members (and those members which have become visably unruly) to explain the purpose of sciforums.

yes, we need a backhand command to smack some sense into people when they deem themselves inappropriate

My congradulations on your post, fast-eddie. Your thoughts come through well. With that comes the time to spend upon your thoughts rather than your choice of words.

I am doing this in this thread as it seems pointless to start another which has a similar theme to this

Right, as many have you have probably noticed, my level of intellegant participation has gone down quite a lot over the last two months or so.

I would like to take this oppurtunity to apologise for this lack of intellegent posts (although I am proud of a certain few).
My mind has been on something else over the last two and a half months.

Very sorry guys and gals

hey, you guys!!! can't we combine intelligence with humor once in awhile in some of our posts....gosh, i want to say to this collective board: lighten-up just a tad. your heads are going to explode if you take everything so darned seriously ALL THE TIME. i mean..c'mon. :bugeye: if this place is going to get so begrudgingly serious it's going to make it a less attractive place to want to come and visit. i mean..think about it. that's what makes learning fun...to add a bit of spice to i; NOT to continuosly be hitting somebody over the head with knowledge. i mean...who in their right mind wants to learn that way? i think all you posters who have posted in this thread are way cool and have written many fine, pertinent thoughts, and, it's also cool the way you can let your hair down a bit and have *gasp* fun. is that so wrong???!! i think there is something gravely wrong with a person who has no sense of humor. *end of rant*

Pumpkins, thank you for the post. Made me chuckle. I'm not apologising for me posting funny posts. I used to post loads of intellegent ones too, but, as I've said, my mind has been on something else so I can't think straight
