View Full Version : I've just seen the most freakiest film ever
By that, I mean Apocolypse Now
Thats one freaky ass film. It might have been ok if it didn't have that terrible music.
Has anyone else seen it?
Was anyone else as confused as me?
Anyone know any other freaky films?
Ravenous, starring Guy Pearce and Robert Carlysle. The freaky thing is that among all the death and cannibalism and fear, the background music sounds like it's from a Nintendo game.
I've heard of that film. Never appealed to me so I'm only ever going to see it when held at gun point or forced to by a nagging girlfriend. Personally, I'd take the bullet
The serpent and the rainbow
Lost Highway
Blue Velvet
Sixth Sense
*stRgrL* 08-27-02, 03:11 PM Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas....:D
I LOVE fear and loathing in Las Vega!
Come on... I just want to carve a little z in your forehead...
When White Rabbit peeks, I want you to throw in the radio.
In a minute he would see the bats.
Funny thing about ether. Makes you walk funny and you can't do a damn thing about it.
:D
Those aren't even the best lines from F/L!
"We can't stop here. This is bat country."
"Do you want a smoke? Some ether?"
"What???"
"Never mind."
Raul narrative - "But ether, now that was the kicker. There is nothing lower than a man in the depths of an ether binge. And I knew that soon enough we'd break into that horrible stuff."
Raul - "Let's do some ether."
Another freaky movie is Mulholland Drive. That and the other Lynch's already mentioned are wierd as all hell.
NightFall 08-27-02, 11:28 PM we had to watch apocolypse now in english class... along with bravehaeart.. ten things i hate about you.. and the looooong list of others.... hmmm.. clockwork orange is a bit screwed up.. lol.
Clockwork Orange was weird. Wasn't that from the same person who made Apocolypse now or was that Full Metal Jacket?

Apocalypes Now is fucking A! The music is great, the doors were genious. I've seen it like 3 times or something and never get bored of it, 3 hours long. I wasnt confused at all, i sat down and watched it and got into it - its one of those kinda films because its got a complicated kinda plot.
Another freaky film: CHILDREN OF THE CORN.
The music was terrible. It didn't fit in
Captain_Crunch 08-28-02, 10:09 AM i would debate that.
the doors from the sixties, that was the type of music they listened too. Also, it added to the weird story line with weird music. i thought the music played a big part in the film.
The music did fit the mood ie WEIRD but it wasn't good. The music was annoying
Captain_Crunch 08-28-02, 10:46 AM do you think they should have had some Rammstein in there then? :bugeye:
No
Maybe something Orchestrial. A bit like Platoon maybe
Nothing freakier than Event Horizon.
"Clockwork Orange was weird. Wasn't that from the same person who made Apocolypse now or was that Full Metal Jacket?"
Full Metal (excellent movie) and Clockwork (excellent movie) were by Stanley Kubrick.
"The music did fit the mood ie WEIRD but it wasn't good. The music was annoying"
The Doors are annoying??????
Captain_Crunch 08-28-02, 01:27 PM The Doors are annoying?
i know, i cant comprehend this at all. the doors were genious.
if the music fits the mood of the film, is'nt that its purpose?
Thank You Tyler
i knew it was Stanley someone. Isn't that the same guy that did 2001: A Space oddysey
Yes, same guy.
And for your next questions: he did eyes wide shut and the shining too.
:D :D :D
Squid Vicious 08-29-02, 03:18 AM Pretty much everything David Lynch ever did.
That includes Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Eraserhead, Dune (commercial break), Wild At Heart, The Elephant Man, Twin Peaks and there's a few i have yet to see.
BloodSuckingGerbile 08-30-02, 11:26 AM Dunno what exactly you mean by a freaky film because I've never seen "Apocalypse Now", but I have to mention the Japanese or Chinese movie "Empire of Senses" which was banned everywhere in the '80s or '70s (don't remember) and a few months ago they showed it on sattelite TV and it's the friekiest or the sickest, or whatever movie I've ever seen. I didn't have the nerves to see it all...
