View Full Version : I seen a slug on the pavement
KennyJC 12-11-06, 07:19 PM And I suddenly thought "wow, what a pointless existence"... But It doesn't realize how pointless it's life is. In fact it probably doesn't realize anything.
Isn't the big fat slug in the middle of the pavement in a cold winter Scottish morning the lucky one? I am also on a freezing pavement at 7am, but the difference is that I am conscious of how pointless my existence is :(
Killjoy 12-11-06, 07:35 PM How do you know the slug's existence is pointless ?
Other than that it all is, naturally - I'm just sayin'...

Proving, once again, that ignorance is bliss!

Personally, I think we humans are far too ego-centric to appreciate the finer things in life, while actually going out of our way to make our lives complicated and difficult to understand. See? The slug doesn't do any of that crap ....he just crawls along and is perfectly content doing so.

spidergoat 12-11-06, 07:55 PM Slugs are amazing creatures. In Oregon, we have huge banana slugs that can stretch 8-10 inches! I'm sure their life is rich in sensory experience, and just as pointless as yours.

weed_eater_guy 12-12-06, 12:28 PM ewwww.....
But the slug serves a purpose. It eats algee and shit and helps stabilize the life cycle. So, in a way, as long as it is part of the life cycle, it has a purpose. Kinda like people I suppose.
