Hello sciforum members! I draqon recently came in acquitance with two wonderful movies produced by Tarkovsky, a legendary russian film director. The two movies are: Stalker and Solaris (1979)
I dragon would love to share with you the message carried within these films, however I need your response if I should bother to do so. If I get enough responses telling me that one of these films are wanted to be seen, then I will upload this film on my private server for everyone to see, the download of the film from this server will be fast and you will enjoy the film I hope.

So...tell me do you wish for me to upload any of these films for you to see? Or not bother at all?

Stalker is a movie that has nothing to do with violence unlike the title of the movie suggests. Stalker is a story of a zone in Russia (parallel with Chernobyl) that contains an alien artifact that grants wishes to those who complete all paths of the zone. The movie is more philosophical then action/adventure type.

Solaris is a movie that has nothing to do with the sol or the sun. Solaris is a story about a drifting station on an alien planet called Solaris, this station is a place of occurance of many phenomena.

You will be breaking the law, unless you have permission of the copyright holders.

First: the movies were made in Soviet Union
Second: the movies are not to be sold, I do not gain anything from this action
Third: the movies will be deleted as soon as 24 hours end

It is legal to see movies in mass if one of the subjects (me) owns these movies. I however encourage noone to take advantage of this situation and delete the movies as soon as you have seen them.

Please vote.

First: the movies were made in Soviet Union

Copyright laws apply to the Soviet Union.

Moreover, in these particular cases, there are US copyright holders, too.

Second: the movies are not to be sold, I do not gain anything from this action

Showing a film in public is a breach of the distributor's copyright. So is copying the film. So is distributing it.

Third: the movies will be deleted as soon as 24 hours end

Why? Because you're worried your illegal activities will be discovered?

A breach is a breach, whether it happens for 24 hours or 3 years.

It is legal to see movies in mass if one of the subjects (me) owns these movies.

No, it isn't. You cannot simply buy a DVD, for example, then show it in a public venue.

I however encourage noone to take advantage of this situation and delete the movies as soon as you have seen them.

That's irrelevant. You will be breaking the law anyway.

This is the usual rationalisation given by file-sharers of things like music, too, and it doesn't work for them either. You may not illegally distribute copyright material without permission.

Stalker.

I fell asleep during the recent remake of Solaris. Ugh, what a boring movie.

well as my picture above suggests. What an empty world I live in. I love IFC channel, I could only wish to blow up Hollywood crap, anything alternative goes my way and support.
