Hey guys I want to get as much info as I can every day on current affairs around the globe, please recommend the best newspaper, news web-site and/or news t.v broadcast. thanx guysPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
www.cnn.com ????? I use other sites but they are in dutch, so you prolly have no use for that. And for something really weird try www.nakednews.com
I would recommend staying away from sites such as cnn.com. USA news sites will most likely be supporting the Party line in the coming months, saying how evil and scary Saddam is; you won't get impartial news there. SBS is a channel in Australia which specialises in getting stuff from different cultures and different parts of the Earth, their news service rocks. http://www.theworldnews.com.au/ There's also http://www.news.com.au/ but this is less likely to be impartial since it is owned by a guy who has massive business interests in the USA. For more global views: http://www.arabnews.com/ http://english.pravda.ru/ http://allafrica.com/ http://www.asiadaily.com/ http://www.southamericadaily.com/ http://www.einnews.com/centraleurope/ http://www.ananova.com/ http://www.reuters.com/
and still i would choose nakednews over any of these sites Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Sky News CNN BBC News 24 And ITN (I think thats a channel) Also try Discovery And History Channel They sometimes do features on recent events
I would say al-jazeera.net except you guys probably can't read that (not to be trusted, but for interesting opinions and twists on stories, as well as some stories that aren't surprising but are run there first or only there, such as the tape from Muhammad Atta) So... www.ajeeb.com is wonderful, many Arabs use it and it's Arably impartial except of course the biased view of Balkan conflict, Iraq, Palestinian conflict, and Jammu/Kashmir as well as of course civil wars in other nations. It's run from the US by an Egypt-based computer company, Sakhr, and it reports, unlike Arab state-run presses, from the we-Arabs-are-opressed-by-our-dictators-or-dictator-like-national-leaders standpoint which is common among Arabs nowadays. Also, since Ajeeb runs weekly polls (the whole site is in English AND Arabic, so you can see content contributed by Arab readers) which are ALWAYS very interesting. You can look at their poll archive too. Also there's www.arabia.com although they're much much more of a directory site than a newssite. Folks, please know before you reply that I don't take this stuff in as my main newssource, but just to get both sides of the story. (for the other side the Aretz Daily is useful, www.haaretz.co.il) Generally I get international news from my friends, I have a friend in a refugee camp in Palestine [gaza], one in Qatar, one in Israel, one in Bahrain, etc etc.
