My all-time favourite songs are
Barbie Girl – Aqua, Blame it on the Rain – Milly and Vanilly and Bye, Bye, Bye –InSync

I usually put them on the CD player –yes I own one – and get naked.
I let the rhythms dictate the strokes before I splatter my semen onto my chest, imagining a real woman next to me.

Xev,

And, by the way, I'll apologize over the 'bleeding' comment. I shouldn't, after all you're being a bitch, but fuck it. Whatever. It was not only a low blow but a lame blow. But it does convey the message that you're being a bitch. And that's how I originally meant it.

I don't think an apology is sufficiant. Your insinuation that I am menstrating today (as opposed to any of the four out of thirty other days per month that I menstrate has scarred me emotionally. So badly that I won't correct the run-on sentence I just wrote.

Xev,

Well. Too bad. An apology's all you're getting. And the apology is only for the rag thing. That was stupid. Everyone knows that you don't need menses to be a bitch.

And. I debated on whether or not to apologize at all considering your funny comment about e-flirting or whatever. But, you did say that after I made the rag comment. But, I do wonder if you didn't have that in mind from the beginning. Interesting if you did.

I wonder. Why didn't you ridicule my use of Five Easy Pieces as well? Is it only Hofstadter that shouldn't be referenced?

Heh. Speaking of Five Easy Pieces. I'm picturing Nicholson telling the waitress to hold the chicken salad between her knees. But, you'd just ridicule me further if I quoted that scene... which is a classic.

And as to Bach saying such hurtful things... as if you're hurt... But. No. I doubt he would. He was a most devout man, after all. And the language of the modern day heathen is a trifle outside of his scope.

I wonder if Bach ever fucked a girl on the rag?

Coffee,

How does a thread go from Bach to menstration to whether or not Bach fucked a menstrating girl?

It's simple really.
Xev created this thread for a purpose.
That purpose was to ridicule me for talking about two things:
1.) Bach. (More specifically, the Art of the Fugue.)
2.) Godel, Escher, Bach.

Apparently, Xev doesn't believe that people should talk about things. People should only read quietly to themselves and never ever discuss the books they're reading as that can only mean that they're trying to get into some random e-chick's panties. Same with music. People should only listen to music without ever sharing their feelings on the music with others. Because she knows all too well that the only purpose of discussion is to get into e-panties.

Which is funny considering how often you can find Xev rambling on about Emperor or Dimmu Borgir or Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. She must have been desperately trying to get into a lot of e-panties considering all her posts on the subjects.

Ah. Well.
Bet her hand is tired after all that masturbating.

Dude, I bought that book and man, it's confusing as hell. I guess it's only 'cause I read it on break from my job. But seriously, who reads that kind of stuff and actually understands sentence after sentence? They are kind of forced to formulate their own postulates. And after postulate after postulate, they are far fucking off. They don't understand anything. You must have been a great student at whatever school you went to. What are you? A moron?

invert_nexus

Apendrapew,

What page are you on?

I've made it to chapter 5. At that point, I put the book down and got distracted by other things, but I occasionally pick it up and review what I've read already preparing to pick it up again soon and start once more in earnest.

Dude, I bought that book and man, it's confusing as hell.

Yes. There are confusing aspects to it. But if you take it slowly, one step at a time, and don't move on until you've understand what you've read so far, I think it all builds on itself fairly well.

I stopped at chapter 5 because I had some difficulty figuring out what was up with the elusive Diagram G. I even started a thread about it over at TheScienceForum during the hiatus: http://www.thescienceforum.com/Diagram-G-and-Recursive-Transition-Networks-434t.php

I searched around the internet looking for answers and found that all the references I could find on the subject were people going... "Huh? What? Derr..." Funny.
Anyway. It finally came to me. But, there is still a riddle to be solved about the Flip Tree. And the other equations immediately following Diagram G. I scratched and noodled and even tried masturbating, but I'm still stuck on that section.

When I pick up the book again, I'll read all the way through again and if I still can't figure out those equations when I come to them then I'll have to bookmark them and hope that something comes to light later that will help me to understand the significance to which Hofstadter is referring. I'll get them someday. I can pretty much guarantee that. The only question is how long it'll take me.

But seriously, who reads that kind of stuff and actually understands sentence after sentence? They are kind of forced to formulate their own postulates. And after postulate after postulate, they are far fucking off. They don't understand anything.

This is a problem, of course, with Hofstadter's style. He doesn't just tell you the answer. Or even the question, for that matter. He kinda tricks you into things. But, if you don't end up going down the right path, there's no signposts to redirect you and you get hopelessly confused and stuck on some tangent or other.

This book would probably be an easier read in school with someone teaching it that actually understands what is being shown in each instance. Someone with a teacher's edition. But, it would probably suck much of the fun and discovery out of it.

Give and take. Plus and minus. One or the other.
Damn life.

You must have been a great student at whatever school you went to. What are you? A moron?

Heh. Interesting disparity there.
Yes. I'm a moron. And. No. I didn't really do all that great at school. I never really gave a shit about school.

Anyway. Don't you know that all I'm after is some e-panties?
How about yours? I know you're a dude, but fuck it. Gotta take what I can get.

As Apendrapew says, she is smart. This is fairly obvious. I won't go so far as to say that it can't be faked, but I will say that I find it unlikely. But, she seems to have issues about it. She hasn't been much more than a troll here for quite some time. Seems she thinks that if she does anything else that she'll just be taken for an e-flirt or something. Dunno. Too bad, really. But, it's her choice in the end. Maybe someday she'll get beyond it.

Maybe she just has the same issues that Wanderer has. Tired of threads and posts that took time and care going to waste. Pearls before swine and all that. Too many people get caught up in the pearls before swine bullshit. It distracts from the real issue which is the advancement of self.

Or... Maybe she's just on the rag.

Yesterday I found out that the Backstreet boys might be making a comeback.

My heart was raised on the wings of hope into the heavens.
Despite the cruelty of the world these artists stand as examples of integrity and depth in an industry of recipe based creativity and rampant sampling.

What did Baudrillard say about our self-referential modern world?

No really…what did he say?

Not everyone can appreciate the lamentations of a youth seeking a cute girl to call his own or the howls of a lone wolf rapping for his biatch or the crooning appeals of a wanton heart trapped in a post-modern, post-industrial, pre-apocalyptic, generation Y (why?), consumerist western world.
It takes a delicate pallet to savour these transcending tastes.

Bach?
What was Bach but his eras Michaels Jackson, without the freakishness?
Who was Vivaldi but his century’s Britney Spears, without the plastic breasts and the obvious retardation?

I agree with you that Wanderer had interesting things to say. Some good. Some bad. Just like us all. I kinda wish he'd just get over his angst and come back too. But. Just like everything. It's his choice in the end.

By the way, do you think you'd be able to recognize his writing under the guise of another username?

Satyr,

What did Baudrillard say about our self-referential modern world?

Dunno. Never read. Be careful though. You'll get accused of name dropping pretty soon.

Bach?
What was Bach but his eras Michaels Jackson, without the freakishness?

Actually, no. Bach wasn't famous in his own time. Well, there's disparate accounts on this. Some say that he was and some say that he wasn't. I tend to believe the accounts I've read where he wasn't made popular until a hundred years after his death. Mendelssohn, Beethoven, and Mozart (among others) revived Bach and made him known. In his own time he was just a simple man who made poor business decisions.

He was devoted to the Lord, you see. He chose poverty in the service of the Lord rather than fame and riches in the service of the people. If he had wanted to be his era's Michael Jackson or Britney Spears or whatever, he'd have written opera.

But just because I'm special, and moody, I listen to more sophisticated and sensitive rock, especially of the British sort like Radiohead, Coldplay, and Travis. You are so pretentiously oblivious about good music.

The hip-hop genre represents the cultural anxieties of generations of disillusioned young people that are looking for the Self in the bling-bling reality of ghetto existentialism.

Their words echo the social sensibilities of the masses that have been excluded from the capitalistic profit sharing and they carve out a new reality amongst the crack-houses and bitty-bopping rides. Pieces strapped against their hearts and biatches hanging from their arms in Conanesque hyper-masculinity poses, while their hands drifts over their crotches reminding you of the essence of human psychology.

I can almost hear them now:
“Yeiaaaaaa, raise your hand up in the air and shake them like you just don’t care….”
“Put your left hand in and whirl it all about…….”

Street poetry forged in Ebonics splendour crying out for artificiality by embracing the symbols of superficial materialism and hedonistic amorality.

They sample other people’s riffs and imitate their rhythms in a denouncement of creativity itself and sell image in place of substance in true American fashion.

No I don't think so. There are two potential situations. One is that you are too inhibited to express yourself in real life, and use the internet as a place to vent your feelings. The other is that you are such an incredible loser - well, actually both mean that you're a loser - such a loser that you find a source of ego-gratification and camraderie in posting your feelings about Bach on the internet.

Actually...sounds familiar...are you Wanderer?
I should send you a few emails, you could create an elaborate fantasy about me from them and then lash out against me on teh Sciforum.
What do you think?

I like how you you mention INXS as though you were just passing the time of day like all the kiddies at the water cooler talking about who Fred Durst is fucking. But, no. Not you. You have 'sophisticated' tastes.

Umm, no.

You know what's sad? I've often wondered just why you didn't post more around here.

Oh. Well.
I guess it suits you.

Dude, gay pride day was yesterday.

Because only fags can actually find beauty in things.
But. Which is it? Am I being pretentious and name dropping?
Or am I being gay because I actually *gasp* like the music I was talking about?! OMFG!!!!

Nah. I already know what you're going to say.
I'm a pretentious fag.
Right?
Chortle?

Let me ask you something.
Have you ever listened to the Art of the Fugue?
Didn't you find it beautiful?
If not, then I'm amazed.
I can't conceive of anyone not experiencing what I experience listening to it.
Even though I've witnessed that failing already in my own brother.

Did you cut and paste this from some sixteen year old's essay on "Why I Cut"?

Yeah. Yours.

No I don't think so. There are two potential situations. One is that you are too inhibited to express yourself in real life, and use the internet as a place to vent your feelings. How about something even better. Although just as much an 'incredible loser'.

Want some truth, little Xevvie? I don't mind sharing. I've already shared it here and there thoughout the forums anyway. I don't mind.

You'll have to ask though. And you'll have to wait. It's too late to get into long stories tonight.

But. Of course. I'm only doing this to get into those e-panties of yours. What does your clit look like?

Anyway.
Yeah. I guess nobody should ever post anything on the internet. Right? Only losers post about Bach on the internet. Right?

Like I said. I know now why you've become a troll. Because you fear being pretentious. Funny how you just can't help but be exactly what you fear, isn't it?

Actually...sounds familiar...are you Wanderer?
I should send you a few emails, you could create an elaborate fantasy about me from them and then lash out against me on teh Sciforum.
What do you think?

I'll pass.
I'd get bored talking about Dimmu Borgir and anal sex pretty quicky, I think.

Umm, no.

http://psychcentral.com/psypsych/Patrick_Bateman

I don't give a shit who Patrick Bateman is. What I said was that you were comparing your mentioning an obscure European band with someone talking about a mainstream (if outdated) pop band.

Tell us about how you like Limp Bizkit. They're an awesome band, aren't they? Wouldn't you love Fred Durst to stick it to you?

Go to the nearest window.
Look outside.
Don't be afraid, it won't hurt you.

You're right. It won't. It's nighttime now and the sun won't burn my photophobic skin.

Anyway. I can see your misunderstanding. I thought I made it clear that I meant that you were just being a troll rather than a productive poster, but you've managed to extract the line that seems to indicate that I was wondering about your general absence instead.
No.
When you are here.
You're a troll.
Plus. Your'e here, a lot mo're than people thin'k. Are'nt you?
Sometimes I wonder when you find time to sleep, to tell the truth.

Plus. Don't you find it ironic that you are almost at 9000 posts? That despite all the time you've been absent both this summer and last summer. That your post count is still at 7 posts a day?
I do.
Almost as ironic as your thread on Nokturnal Mortum or what the fuck ever.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=invert

Ha!
Ok. That's kinda funny.
But. So what?
What if I was gay?
Would that bother you?
You've spent some time eating fish, haven't you?

You're grasping.

I feel so demeaned when you call me "little Xevvie"
I mean it's not like every trashy soccer mom uses endearing terms to talk down to someone. No. You're very original in this.

Like I said. I know now why you've become a troll. Because you fear being pretentious. Funny how you just can't help but be exactly what you fear, isn't it?

I think you're more concerned about my descent into trolldom than anyone else.

I don't give a shit who Patrick Bateman is. What I said was that you were comparing your mentioning an obscure European band with someone talking about a mainstream (if outdated) pop band.

No.
Oh god you are stupid. It's one thing not to get the reference, it's another to be deliberately obtuse.

Patrick Bateman was the hero of the novel 'American Psycho'. He writes these several page long essays - in his head - about his favorite pop bands. INXS is mentioned.

I was comparing my blurb to him.

Now do you see?

You're accusing me of something I (ironically) admitted to.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that is?

Plus. Your'e here, a lot mo're than people thin'k. Are'nt you?

Did the demon of bad punctuation strike?

You've spent some time eating fish, haven't you?

It's interesting to watch you fumble for an insult.
Here I am, mocking your pretension, and you can only retort with
"But yu are teh gay!!"
As if that's not been done before.

Kinda shows how bankrupt you are, eh?
How much you need to bring up Bach because you have nothing of your own to talk about.
How much you need the personal drama - look how you bring things back to the personal - because it's the only thing you can really understand.

Actually I was implying that you were feminine.
Hence the bold.

Ok. No life story for you then.

Because only fags use overblown prose to describe that beauty.

Sure about that?

You're grasping.

You are.

You're very original in this.

And. I'm so concerned with being original.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that is?

Do you have any idea how you're doing it again?
Tell us more about American Psycho. It was an awesome book, wasn't it?
Are you trying to get into my e-panties?

Did the demon of bad punctuation strike?

You sa'id it.

It's interesting to watch you fumble for an insult.

It's interesting to watch you fumble looking for insults.
Why should my asking you about your lesbian confessions be deemed an insult?
It wasn't meant to be.

Here I am, mocking your pretension, and you can only retort with
"But yu are teh gay!!"
As if that's not been done before

Ah. But meanwhile dodging your own pretension.

I repeat. I wasn't trying to insult you. I was merely asking you why think that you were effectively insulting me. Which you answer with:

Actually I was implying that you were feminine.

So. Now it's not about fags using overblown prose. But rather females.
Xev. None of this means anything.
You're sidestepping.

Kinda shows how bankrupt you are, eh?
How much you need to bring up Bach because you have nothing of your own to talk about.
How much you need the personal drama - look how you bring things back to the personal - because it's the only thing you can really understand.

Christ.
You don't even see yourself in your own words, do you?
Who's making this personal?
Me? No. You.
Why do you bring up Dimmu Borgir, Nokturnal Mortus, Patrick Bateman, Wittgenstein, etc, etc, etc,?
Because you have nothing of your own to talk about?
But. If you were talking about things of 'your own' wouldn't you be talking about the 'personal'?

And. As to personal drama.
Who is it that can always be found in drama?
Me?
Or you?

Either you're blind.
Or you're doing this all on purpose.
Which is it?

Ah. Almost missed this one.

Here we have it.

I'm more concerned with your descent into trolldom than anyone else.
Now that's interesting.

And you're more concerned with my 'pretentiousness' than anyone else.
So what?

(Oh. Gasp. I did it again. How unoriginal of me. What will the people think?)

Anyway. I think it's a shame. That's all.
I've read some of the threads where you actually participated in a meaningful manner. We even had one of our own back in that Freudian thing. I think it's a shame. It's a loss to the forum that you are ashamed of your intelligence or whatever your problem with it is.

I seem to remember you mentioning in that Freudian thread (or maybe another around the same time) that you don't read as much as you used to. Something about... fuck. I don't remember exactly. But I do remember you saying that you were becoming less intellectual. Did you say something about it being a social thing? Can't remember. By the way, don't take this particular rambling for an insult. You probably will anyway. And insult me back. Whatever.)

Anyway. I would also like Wanderer to come back and post seriously. I'd like all the productive members of the board to post seriously rather than be trolls. I mean. You can troll every now and again. But, enough is enough.

Invert nexus is progressively getting more feminine because he's getting in touch with his anima. No, he's not fag. He's becoming self-actualized. Soon, he won't need others to pat him on the head, and he'll quit trying to appear smart.

No. My anima is getting in touch with me.
But. She won't let me touch her boobies.
And the bitch won't even pat my 'head'.

Heh.
Know something. I was thinking the same damn thing. I was pissed at you before when you first tried pissing on something that I held precious. But when you came back to post you frankly bored the anger right out of me.

And. Yeah. You're not sure because you're not doing it on purpose. That leaves the other option. That you're blind to it.

Good night.
