I watched child genius on channel four the other night which all the children were being iq tested to determine how gifted they really are. The tests seemed and would by someone of my age very easy, but i got the impression from the tester they were made for someone of six year's old. So when two year old georgia got the maximum 170 score in her iq test, her mum obviously was overjoyed and excited told us her goal in georgia taking the test was for her to get a greater chance of getting into a school to suit her needs. So she rang a top school in hampshire in the hope she would get accepted, but unfortunately when the letter came and it said not accepted it was a major shock to her.

I didnt really agree in it's entirety with the parent's putting their children under such pressure at such a young and mischievous age. In my opinion it's as if they were using them as a weapon in a sense. One of the parent's had already found out that one of their children the oldest had an iq of 170. So she figured she'd get her other child tested. So she had him tested and he got 137 in the test. Which is fairly high for someone of five years. I mean honestly if her son didnt have that mark and had a average score would he not feel as good as his older brother, who according to the test was a genius.

I honestly think you cant base iq test's at two years old and not even at five really. At a point where they havent really developed enough literacy and mathematical skills.

If you read up on the history of IQ tests, they were invented to allow direct comparison between children in a class. Kind of like measuring their height and therefore you could say this one is the shortest, and this one the tallest. Unfortunately since they people got obsessed with using them to measure some allegedly real thing called "Intelligence", and they started using it as an absolute rank.
Hence the abomination that is child IQ testing. I'm sure it makes lots of money for the people doing the testing.
