I'm sitting in the middle of boxes and furniture packed tight together in one room. I have moved.
Tomorrow they will come at 7.30 in the morning and tear down one wall, paint the ceiling and put in new floor. I have three rooms( four before the tearing) and this procedure will be done with all of them, except for the walltearing part. So I will have to move around all the boxes and furniture to one room to another until all rooms are done. And in between the painting of ceiling and the putting in of new floor, I will have to paint the walls. Because I agreed to do this myself, as a nice gesture toward the landlord, who will pay for everything, even the paint.
Just wanted to bother you with this.
Now I will inhale some catnip and watch Big Lebowski on video.

Have a nice evening everyone, or night, day, morning, afternoon, depending on where on the globe you are located.

Oh, I almost forgot. To make this topic slightly more interesting than sharing details from my moving experience, I wanted to ask : What do you do when you are bored and do not have access to your home?

    Hugs

Sometimes I just walk around and see what's out there, preferably new places.

    Stuff to do...

Road trip time. Take a friend and zip off into the great wide open. Make sure that you stop at all the freak stores on the way to meet people. Take down names and photos for thoes brave enough and throw them in a scrap book titled, "this is how my house got fixed."

    Peace

shopping. i don't usually have much money... but ill wander around stores forever..

i do have a question though.... how come you didn't wait to move all the stuff in till after the floors were done? sounds like an awful lot of moving heavy objects.
hope it looks good when its done though.

    Thanks for the tips.

That's a long story Nightfall. It has to do with that I didn't have an opportunity to come and see the apartment before the move, since it's across the whole country. I told the landlord that he could fix the ceiling and floor before I came, but he thought it was best that I saw the place first.., in case I would be dissapointed with the work. I tried telling him that I wasn't THAT picky, but he insisted.
Today it's friday and they still haven't finished even one room....

The people up here are not of the fast working kind.

Tack så mycket Adam, du är snäll.

If I have no access to my house for some reason or just am bored , I usually get into train and go to the sea.
spend all day sitting by it and reading a good book.
last time it was "Thus spoke Zarathustra"...
I have prepared "Master and Margaret" for the next time.

    The sea ...
The great thing with this city is that it is surrounded by water. From my window I see the river that leads into the sea Östersjön( don't know the english name and am too lazy to find out) so it's very close to the water, about 50 meters from my apartment, maybe less even.
And many beaches are at walking distance, although today it's cloudy.
I have lived here before, but then I failed to see the breathtaking nature that this place has to offer, that I am so astonished by now.

Well, I'm very glad it's a nice place. I heard it's very windy up in Luleå. The almost entire days of darkness must be fun, later in the year. I know all those red houses look quite groovy.
