Have you got anything worth living for?

About myself - I don't know, I guess not. There is nothing special that holds me.

How about you?

I live for myself and if I had a family it would also be for them.

wow, I can't imagine anyone who says they don't.
Even if they didn't have a family, what about puppies and ice cream, and donuts, and riding a bike and ...

I have everything worth living for.

I am me, that's all that needs be.

That's circular reasoning, but ok.

But is is MY reason, no matter what you might think of it. I know you are looking for some type of deep philosophical thought on this question but sometimes it is just a simple statement like mine that can say it all. :)

There seems to be no deeper purpose to life.

There are many but I'm not going to write about all of them.

what about puppies and ice cream,

I think they're a delicious combination! They're even better with kitty sprinkles. :)

I fully accept your answer. :)
One my friend said it's her dog, for some other it might be a friend, an idea, a mission or a job, all perfectly equal.
I just can't think of anything for myself.

You are here doing something aren't you, isn't that part of your answer?

In a way, yes, I am searching for an answer, a thought,
nay, an experience of a thought.

I don't know if thats depressing or self absorbed.

Ask the right question of what you are looking for and you can find your answers.

Ask the right question of what you are looking for and you can find your answers.

I have the answer, sort of, I just don't know what it means...

I got it two years ago during a shamanistic trance journey (no drugs involved), the unintentional question that I was unaware of was on my true being.

And the answer keeps bugging me, because I don't understand it, but I feel that it has a great meaning for myself...

I know what I am, why I am, and what I am looking for, I just have no idea, what it is, the words for me have no meaning that I am aware of...

Baltic and Slavic people have an old folk tale entitled "Go there don't know where, find that don't know what". I feel like I'm in that tale.

So I asked the question curious on what others have found.

If I was told that, I would go out and try to experience everything I could in life. If how I am now is not my true me, then I would go find me.

It would be like being told "You haven't found the food you love most" Well, heck, I would then try sampling every food out there.

You ask the wrong people, you know the answer, it is within you.

Yes, I have, but it has been always changing. Sometimes its the one I love,
sometimes its something I want to accomplish.

If you have nothing worth living for, then there is nothing worth dying for.

Well I'm waiting to see if the next season of Lost is any good. If not, then no I guess there is nothing.

It's easy to find something worth dying for, but not something worth living for.

I live to contribute to humanity. It's a shallow, small cause; but I like giving, it makes people smile.

Why?
10-24-07, 11:11 AM
I live for my family. That's really all you need. If you don't have one, go out and build one.

I have, but I don't think it's necesserally something worth living for, any family.

I'm a temporary manifestation of the universe, energy, I am it, and I am to experience myself,
and it won't change when this body dies, nothing of it will change, so I can let it go.

I have to think.

I intend to die at 35, but if I miraculously get a child I will have to stay until it becomes independent. Your death won't change anything for anyone except for a kid who still depends on you for wellbeing.
