I think that a person should be allowed to have a weapon if they pass an exam and register the thing. Also, no felons or people with medical problems associated with insanity should be allowed to have them.

To protect myself from manic trigger happy gun toting Americans who come to "liberate" me. :D

Hunt animals (venison is wonderful and Duck is fantastic)
Defend my property/family/life from criminals (I live two blocks from the Sheriff's office and it still takes them two hours to get here.)
Defend myself/family against foreign invasion/occupation. (Not as scared of my own government as i am the other idiotic leaders of the world. But I do agress this is highly unlikely)
Shoot for sport (Skeet is a blast.)
Shoot for fun (Ever got to fire a .50BMG sniper rifle? I have.)
Have a sense of security (Just having one let's me know that if the fecal matter hit the rotarr oscilator, I at least have some options other than bleeding.)
