I purchased some prescription drugs online and I never recieved them. I spent a few hundred dollars, and now the web site says the company is out of bussiness. Is there anything that I can do? I would apreciate any REAL help, I don't need to hear how stupid I am, I am well aware of that fact already.

I'm assuming you made a payment with a credit card. Doesn't your credit provider have some kind of insurance against such an occurance? Here in the uk I think we get about three months and they'll refund your money if you get shafted. May be worth a try:)

Good luck. That is a bad scam. They should not be allowed to get away with such a thing.
The big scam I try to a admonish people of being very wery of is the ADM scam. (Automatic Debit Marketing).
They attach atuomatic charges to a customer's card without him knowing.
Legitimate companies allow the customer to choose weather or not they want an autodebit such as the phone/cable/power/rent people.

ADM scam companies will REQUIRE you to allow them to autodebit your card OR ELSE you may not have the product or service.
Most of them will sell you something dirt cheap, and attach monthly or yearly charges to your card either without notifying you or notifying you with a tiny sentance in a legal document.

wow, I'm continuously shocked that anyone is crazy enough to spend more than $5 online unless the company has a history. It reminds me of people that give money to those phone/mail/e-mail scammers. If the price is too good (like gambling in vegas) you will lose most of the time.

I don't feel sorry for people that lose money online any more than I feel sorry for the vegas crowd. If someone says you can get 1,000,000 bottles of viagra for $5000 - and you actually pay them - you deserve to lose your money.

Guys. Nick necromancied this thread. This was posted almost two years ago. Josh is surely long gone.

What's funny is that he resurrected the thread to mention buffys avatar and stir the pot.
And some newb did report the avatar.

Just so that person will know, as far as I'm concerned that avatar is grandfathered in. Plazma or a higher up can make a different decision, but buffys has had that avatar for years so changing it because of an offended newb is ridiculous.
