View Full Version : I got ripped off by a web site. (BIG TIME)
JoshHolloway 03-01-05, 10:41 PM I purchased some prescription drugs online and I never recieved them. I spent a few hundred dollars, and now the web site says the company is out of bussiness. Is there anything that I can do? I would apreciate any REAL help, I don't need to hear how stupid I am, I am well aware of that fact already.

one_raven 03-02-05, 07:44 PM You got ripped off trying to buy prescription drugs online?
I know it's not funny, but why can't I stop laughing, then?
Lord_Phoenix 03-02-05, 07:48 PM Funny you should mention this, I know a friend who lost a couple of grand. Anyways, I never buy anything online except from Amazon.ca
certified psycho 03-02-05, 10:54 PM What nice way to get fucked.
You should have known never to order things online that you in your body.
I'm assuming you made a payment with a credit card. Doesn't your credit provider have some kind of insurance against such an occurance? Here in the uk I think we get about three months and they'll refund your money if you get shafted. May be worth a try:)
VossistArts 03-04-05, 06:47 PM Whats up with your micheal jackson avatar?
oh thats hysterical! i thought it was one of those planet of the apes characters! haaaaaaaa
lixluke 03-04-05, 10:23 PM Good luck. That is a bad scam. They should not be allowed to get away with such a thing.
The big scam I try to a admonish people of being very wery of is the ADM scam. (Automatic Debit Marketing).
They attach atuomatic charges to a customer's card without him knowing.
Legitimate companies allow the customer to choose weather or not they want an autodebit such as the phone/cable/power/rent people.
ADM scam companies will REQUIRE you to allow them to autodebit your card OR ELSE you may not have the product or service.
Most of them will sell you something dirt cheap, and attach monthly or yearly charges to your card either without notifying you or notifying you with a tiny sentance in a legal document.
Hey, my brother lives in the apartment that guy lives in (2 E.8th St). In fact, he even lives on the same floor (26). Apartment 2612 is just down the hall. Want me to ask him to go knock on the guys door?
NightFall 03-07-05, 04:40 PM this aughta get good. can we have video footage?
nathans brother in apartment 2612 with a 2 by 4??
NightFall 03-14-05, 12:19 AM by golly, i think he's got it!
wow, I'm continuously shocked that anyone is crazy enough to spend more than $5 online unless the company has a history. It reminds me of people that give money to those phone/mail/e-mail scammers. If the price is too good (like gambling in vegas) you will lose most of the time.
I don't feel sorry for people that lose money online any more than I feel sorry for the vegas crowd. If someone says you can get 1,000,000 bottles of viagra for $5000 - and you actually pay them - you deserve to lose your money.
lixluke 03-14-05, 02:02 PM I really thought Yahoo had a decent history, but they scammed me huge.

Did you have a prescription? What's wrong with a real pharmacy?
be wary of online drugs (http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/50982.php)

420Joey 01-14-08, 03:12 PM I'll be damned if I give sciforums anything of monetary substance for an avator.
joepistole 01-14-08, 03:22 PM Don't be too hard on yourself Josh. We all make mistakes...not matter how smart we are.
Athelwulf 01-14-08, 04:06 PM Guys. Nick necromancied this thread. This was posted almost two years ago. Josh is surely long gone.
spidergoat 01-14-08, 04:26 PM Oh. Thanks Nick.
Nikelodeon 01-14-08, 04:33 PM Oh gee well fuck me over sideways and backwards.
Like this kinda thing doesnt still go on.
spidergoat 01-14-08, 04:34 PM I need a valium.

What's funny is that he resurrected the thread to mention buffys avatar and stir the pot.
And some newb did report the avatar.
Just so that person will know, as far as I'm concerned that avatar is grandfathered in. Plazma or a higher up can make a different decision, but buffys has had that avatar for years so changing it because of an offended newb is ridiculous.
