Apparently human dna uses only 3% of the data on it...the rest is there as junk to prevent mutations and other problems...furthermore these 3% used are just 45MB of data! :eek: So I need to make a backup of myself than on 45 floppy disks. :D

Are you kidding? Who uses CDs anymore? You could fit 1,000 genomes on a single double layered BluRay (45 GB, as opposed to 700 MB).

They can't completely duplicate your genome, I think. I think there are huge sections of satellite DNA around the centromeres and end repeats that are impossible to read using the shotgun method.
I imagine the computing power to make that DNA legible would be enormous.
