I guess you can call me a working-class liberal now. Because I'm now employed. :D

It's not a special job, really, but it's money. I'm hoping things will go good with the job. It'll be part-time until I get used to it, and then I'll ask for full time. It's minimum wage, which I think is $7.50 an hour in Oregon. I heard it's going up to somewhere around eight dollars on the first day of next year, so that'll be awesome.

Anyway, I just wanted to announce the good news.

8 bucks an hour.
i remember when 3.35 was minimum
you could also buy a pack of smokes AND a gallon of gas for less than a dollar.

Getting a job in Alberta is sooo ridiculously easy. Walk into any place and not act like a retard. I forget sometimes how lucky we are.

Hey, so what does your job entail?

Does it make use of your linguistic capabilities?

It would if I learn enough Spanish (which I'm doing soon) and a customer who only knows Spanish comes in. :D

so how much of a cut does your pimp take?

23%.

I'll take a #3 with no pickles. Super-sized with a coke.

Wrong restaurant. But I can get you a piping hot plate of flapjacks with a yummy side of bacon.

Actually, no I can't. That's the wrong position. But I can at least greet and seat you.

so what exactly is your job?

Dishwasher at Denny's. I have no job history, so it's pretty much the only job they can really give me. I'm gonna work to get promoted to a host or server.

$12 an hour, motherfuckers! That's what you get if you work your ass off, graduate, get dicked over by a professor with a vendetta, don't get into gradschool consequently, and settle for work that is intellectually below you! Woot!
