Maybe its just me, but this is a science forum, yet there are things such as art and culture, and World Events, Politics etc..
I can understand that Politics can be a science, but thats very lose. and I know World events started off as a Science sub forum.. why didn't the admins shut it down when it went of course ?
Don't get me wrong, Politics and world events consists of over 70% of the reason I'm here...

People here have diverse interests, and I think that's a good thing. sciforums has never really been a dedicated science forum.
I like to think that many around here are generalist critical thinkers, but I don't think the majority of us are scientists.
sciforums has never really been a dedicated science forum.
In fact, it's not a science forum at all.
The "Sci" in 'Sciforums' stands for "Sciara"
This is a forum for discussing gregarious flies and fungus gnats.

Those forums are more popular because they are good for wasting time, imo. They require no real blood flow to the brain. In addition, science discussion is difficult when no one is on the same page in terms of knowledge. There are few true experts, as far as I can tell.
I discuss science at work. After delving in body parts and mechanisms, I want to discuss something else.
And forums are what you make them. If you want more science topics, start them.
The more science threads, the greater the likelihood of attracting people interested in those threads.
