I Need Higher CPU OR Higher RAM

    hello,

    anyone can explain to me which one i have to spend more.
    im working with my pc for designing and its handle lots of vector ( with lots of point) and images.

    Im using Corel 11 software for designing. The problem is when im working with lots of vector and points my pc going very slow and sometimes it will stop responding.

    So do anyone have any idea, which one i have to spend more .. on cpu or ram?
    currently im using AMD processor 1.8Ghz and 1G DDR2 of ram.

    im using grapfic card : Winfast Geforce with 128Bit & 256MB RAM

    Yeah, it sounds like you are taxing the video capabilities....I could be wrong. Another gig of ram would help more than a new CPU, and be a far easier upgrade.

    ermm.. if i increase the ram .. would it helping ? or better upgrade the processor?

    Yes, is your hard drive grinding as you work? If so it's for sure the RAM because you do not have enough RAM to do your tasts using the fast RAM, so your PC starts grabbing HD space and using it as "virtual" ram, this slows down the PC and grinds your HD too much.

    If you are working with multiple vector graphics and multiple layers on a single page - more than 50, your pc will simply slow down as it renders each vector and layer especially when you try to move the whole bunch on a page. No difference at all even if you upgrade to a higher spec.

    Just try to lessen multiple layers.
