Hello everyone. I have a request for all of you. I have create an experiment in my Human Behavior class that will prove a theroy that I have to create. The experiment also requires that I show a correlation between one thing and another. I was thinking on doing a experiment on children. I would play different types of music, rap, rock, alternative, and some classical and have the kid's draw what they feel the music feel's like(I am basing my experiment on a previous experiment someone did that is very similar). What I am trying to prove is "Does certian types of music instigate violent behavior." I would like some constructive critisim on my idea.....and mabye some idea's on other experiments that I could do. It is worth 300 points on my final grade, plus the school administration will be present for it. I just dont know if it will be good enough, and I am drawing a blank on any other idea's for experiment's. Well thanks for reading.

Hmmm...are you sure you expect any significant results? Different types of music huh. How old are these kids involved in the experiment? Are they allowed to hear violent music with suggestive lyrics?

yea..me and my partner decided that it would be too difficult to get children in this experiment. Anyone have any idea's on what to do for a experiment.

Human behavior...

Subject a sample of people to a www.ogrish.com video and note
their reactions. Secondly, with the help of the person, determine
why they reacted the way they did and try to extrapolate results
based on a select category of information, such as experience w/
violence and/or violent movies, music, games and overall lifestyle
the person chose for him/herself.

Just an idea...

It might be fun to switch the conditions a bit and play off volume. Play the rap music low, with low bass, then play some classical with several crescendo's, and turn the bass/volume up. Then play alternative at "normal" volume, and finish up with rock at low volume. Kids often react better to loud sounds/stimula. I suspect the kids, no matter how hard core the rap will almost disregard it at low volume, while they may draw some interesting pictures with classical at high volume. Worth a try as it may disprove the original conclusion of the previous author.

Thanks Guys, I think that I am just going to do an experiment on memory and if you tell a person that they are taking a memory enhancing drug(but it is really something useless) and see if it affects how much of the display they remember. Make sense? My professor said it would be a good one to do. Anyone got anymore advice?
