Cast your vote?:p

USS Exeter

he would not vote.

He cared for the poor, told the rich to give up their money and follow him (or was it give to the poor?). He also provided free health care for everyone, did not care about whether they were rich or middle class, accepted travelers (immingrants), and told "peace I give to you," which is basically no war. Think about it, would Jesus want war or killing of any kind?

1) Are we using the terms "Democratic" and "Republican" in their true sense, or are we using the terms they have developed into in the U.S.?

2) You start a lot of threads.

Explain

I mean that in the U.S., for example, Republicans are generally corrupt, war-mongering white men that envision big, unregulated business.

If this is the concept we're following, then obviously Jesus would not vote Republican. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think that somebody of Jesus' nature would simply abstain from voting.

Yeah, He wouldn't vote.

When I think of this prospect, I am reminded of Christ and the money changers. He stirred things up a bit and upset some entrenched political interests.

I wonder what would happed if Jesus, disguised as a candidate with some random name, ran for president? I bet the CCRs would be picking at him left and right!

especially with his past!

he's been stoned... he has a controversial relationship with a prostitute, he's spent several years in hiding.. not to mention all those all-male dinner parties he throws..
he's got a big closet, thats all i can say.

(sry my knowledge of the bible is poor at best, but i'm sure the headlines would be great!)

Firstly, vote for what???

Specify.

(Myopicy is a terrible American affliction...)

Secondly, Jesus wouldn't be eligible to vote.

Thirdly, Jesus wouldn't vote: he was a rebel.

He'd probably vote socialist, if you have those.

ashura

I don't think so. Socialism, in a sense, involves robbing Peter to give to Paul whereas Jesus would want Peter to give to Paul voluntarily, not through the state. I think he wouldn't vote at all and would encourage private charity.

apparently half the people think Jesus would be lacking in civic duty.

why?

Because Jesus had a higher calling of course. The civic duty would only conflict with his real duty.

EDIT: What's your vote S.A.M.?

Nice stereotype. :( But not true. The party consists of a variety of races/religions, both sexes, etc...

We have lots of soccer Moms, successful career women, black Christians, conservative Muslims, gays, etc..:)

We are not "generally" anything except law-abiding, God-worshipping, and USA-loving. :)

He should get two votes. Don't be so stingy

Dr Lou Natic

Jesus was the original liberal douche bag.
So he wouldn't vote and then he'd protest a lot.
He'd speak out against sexism, racism and homophobia, and speak up for the plight of the poor, the sick and minorities, and then when people grew tired of his idealistic whining they'd say "why don't you do something about it? Instead of lazing around smoking pot and having anal-trains with your suss band of so called disciples?" and then he'd be like "I do! I'm always doing stuff about it, just the other day I cured this poor sick negro lesbian with umm, with magic ... yeah magic *big toke*".
*disciples giggle*

That most republicans worship Jesus as a god is ofcourse hugely ironic.
