View Full Version : How to Wake Up Feeling Great, and Keep the Feeling All Day lixluke 02-18-04, 08:39 AM Suggestions? Xerxes 02-18-04, 09:42 AM Its all basically controlled by the levels of neurochemicals that you have. You can modify them naturally, by changing your diet or surrounding (the design of your home, eating the right veggies and so on.) Or you can take drugs. Chances are that last stint with the nuthouse injection is still farking with your brain, so I can't recommend taking anymore of those. Exercise is sooo effective, but remains overlooked. Look into nightly runs before you go to sleep. Even half hour walks are great. Half of the point is getting your blood to flow, and the eother half is medidation -- you get to see yourself objectively, and all of the oxygen that your brain gets makes those observations deeper. Anyways, the goal isn't to feel great the whole day. Its about keeping a balance, enjoying the extremes, but not living in them. "feeling great the whole day" means that you have no objections to the way things are going. You'll eventually find yourself swerving into bad situations that leave you in depression. river-wind 02-18-04, 11:24 AM yeah, basically what he said. You can mask the negative feelings with drugs or coffe - that works in the short term, as long as drug or coffee are available. And there's that nasty withdrawl thing. Exersize and a healthy diet, however, have a most lasting effect, and are just as, if not more, effective in daily alertness and energy levels. The human body works best under certain conditions, finding and creating those conditions can lead to a very energetic and "feeling great" kinda day. This is the basic idea behind yoga, BTW. A couple hundred/thousand year old study of what physical movements/actions lead to the best physicall state for your body to exsist in. Works, too. spidergoat 02-18-04, 01:31 PM :m: :m: Persol 02-18-04, 05:39 PM Sex. Start your day with it, end your day with it, and go to bed early. Ok, so that's a more temporary solution:) Exercise and watching your glucose levels does wonders as Xerxes and river-wind advised. cosmictraveler 02-18-04, 06:01 PM To wake up feeling well rested there's a few things you might want to try. 1. Don't eat anything at least 2 hours befor you hit the rack. 2. Get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep. 3. Wear ear plugs to keep all noises from being heard, except the fire/ burgler alarms of course. 4. Take doctor prescribed sleeping pills IF you cannot get a good nights sleep. 5. Hit self with hammer so as to knock yourself out. :D ;) Q25 02-18-04, 08:43 PM Suggestions? yeah avoid caffeine or alcohol at least 5 hours before going to sleep, do some exercise so you feel tired, and eat high protein food such as fish, meat to have high energy level, works for me! SwedishFish 02-18-04, 11:45 PM a surprising cause of fatigue and temporary depression-like feelings is dehydration. you may not even know that you're dehydrated. drink water throughout the day to keep your body in good working order. p.s. dehydration is often confused with hunger. it's the body being confused. when you think you want to eat, drink a glass of water first. if it goes away, you were dehydrated not hungry. sargentlard 02-18-04, 11:53 PM p.s. dehydration is often confused with hunger. it's the body being confused. when you think you want to eat, drink a glass of water first. if it goes away, you were dehydrated not hungry. That is the motto of governments of starving thirld world countries. "You're not hungry fellow citizens...you're body has been fooling you for years, day and night, day after day...drink water and all will be well." :) lixluke 02-19-04, 05:49 PM "feeling great the whole day" means that you have no objections to the way things are going. Sorry, no it doesn't. To clarify, what I mean by feeling great is having energy, clarity, and an alert unclouded mind. SwedishFish 02-21-04, 12:36 AM an.droid, i always follow a drink with a full glass of water and as much water before bed as possible. drunkenness is also dehydration.
