Ok, I admit that my hubby and I are slobs, but not intentionally. We just get really busy. On a really bad day, there will be trash on the floor, especially soda cans, dirty diapers, bottles with solid milk, and it'll smell something bad. The last time we cleaned was a month ago when we had company and we spend 10 hours cleaning the house from top to bottom, including re-organizing cabinets, closets, and the fridge.

Seems to me that WMB should be paying a little closer attention in the
Rights and RESPONSIBILITIES of Women thread elsewhere in the forums!

I think I have about 150 T-shirts and there aws a time not long ago that I believe that every single one of them was on the floor. My girlfriend made me clean and buy these ghetto plastic storage drawers because I am to lazy to buy a dresser and put it together and/or carry it.

Most of the time I can't see the surface of teh coffee table in my living room, and I'm sure some people would not enjoy the smell because I'm sure that about 70 cigarettes are smoked in my house per day.

But the files on my hard drive are neat and orderly.

LOL! Yeah, I [am] a big slob, I'll admit. I'm waiting for WM to do the "Pssha. Get to work, Woman!"-thing, in response to Goofyfish's remark. LOL!

Yeah, actually. It's wierd. WM is actually more clean, more organized than me, and this from a person who used to have her books in alphabetical order on her bookshelf. Crazy how kiddos can change everything.

That is EXACTLY what my hubby tells me all the time.....Do you guys have secret meetings or something at night or do you tranmit secret messages via your snoring.

I'm as neat as you can possibly get with two little kids and both parents working full time......Can't help or keep up with the little chocolate hand prints and the fruit juice stains from the sippy cup leaks.

You're sweet to say that, you're right she does.. but I don't like to let her know because it goes straight to her head.

Oh, and she has a point though.. I've never been as neat and clean as she was when I met her. Man I just RUINED her. Stupid biological imperative.

That's standard....don't worry, usually a function of not enough space available and too much cloth. Try giving away the things you don't use periodically. Sounds like sarge is also an over achiever undercover.

I like the plastic-draaah thing. I kinda wish I had some of those to keep myself organized, although, the clothes will have to walk themselves into the draw. Hehe.

Sarge: That's awesome that you're so neat and clean! Heheh. And, yeah, I'm like you. I need a bath/shower everyday. When I don't get to take my shower, I'm a pissy bee'otch.

Flores: You have kiddos too? Aww.. How many? Are they young? Man! It's so hard to keep things organized while they are so young. I bet you're just being modest, aren't you? You probably keep everything spotless.

I did..i really did..i have given away rather high amounts of clothes to goodwill and redcross yet i still remain dumbfounded at the amount of cloth surplus that looms in my closet.....truly perplexing it is.

Wesmorrisbabe......the mess you have is to be expected for kids that you have at such young age. If you didn't have a mess - that would be scary.....when i have my little resons for living one day i'll be a wasteful bastard wallowing in my own sloth

Yeah, I have a two year old boy and four year old girl. Daughter in school first year, and my son stays with grandpa. Girls are way much better when it comes to neatness and listenening to instruction. I had the house pretty clean and neat with my first daughter, now I don't worry about the neat part, I only concentrate on the clean part. Buying big toy boxes help, because you can just throw their toys there.

I heard that you either work from home or is a stay home mom, did you manage to organize for your neighborhood some play groups for the children....I'm struggling to organize or belong to a play group.

[Sargentlard]: LOL! Right on. Yeah, it's hard to keep up with kids. It's amazing how much things change, although some people are able to keep up with it, I'm afraid I'm not that dedicated. I can't spend time on the house all the time. It's a constant chore and I need time to play. Hehe. Thanks for your comments, Sarg. You've made me feel a lot better.

[Flores]: Aww... Your kids sound precious! How're ya doing with your eldest in school? I'm a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM). I used to be in a playgroup but it was too hard for me to keep up, though, because I joined when my youngest was a baby. The playgroup was at 8:00 AM and after being up for late-night feedings, I found it was too exhausting to get the girls dressed, to pack toys (because each just had to have something from home to make them feel comfortable), diapers, bottles, etc. to bring. I would really like to do it again, though, now that my youngest is almost a year old. The playgroup was mostly made-up of the housewiVes whose husbands work with my hubby, and people from their church or acquaintances. One person would invite another person to join them and it was great fun. It was nice to be able to converse with other adults and for letting the kids socialize too.
Flores, yeah, I'm like you, though. I found it to be so much easier to keep the house cleaned when my eldest was a year old. I spent a lot of time with her and since there was just one child to care for, it didn't take a whole lot of effort, but two changes the whole neatness factor. I am sure that you're house is really neat. That's a good idea about the boxes. I've taken a lot of my daughter's toys downstairs and have thrown them into boxes and set-up part of the basement as a 'playroom' because I was tired of the toys being in the livingroom all of the time.
Anyhow, sorry to go on and on. I am sure that you'll find a good way, soon, to start-up a playgroup. If you go to church, you can ask church members, if not, maybe some ladies from your eldest daughter's school have younger children as well and you can invite them to your house for a get-together. Then, you can rotate who hosts so you don't always have to provide the get-together place. I hope it all works out for ya!

[bhudmaash]: LOL! Your post cracked me up!
