Has philosophy used the arts in history to influence major cultural change? If so, how and to what extent? Discuss philosophers known for having the greatest cultural influence through the arts as a medium? How has philosophy old/new been expressed through today's media/entertainment culture? Movies, music, TV, anime, art, etc. Can philosophers of today use their talents in performing arts to spark major cultural revolution that can ripple thoughout all apsects of social/political/economic civilization?

Has it? If so, to what extent? Is there any sort of philosophy currently being used in current entertainment industry culture?

Yes ,It certainly has used Arts many a times.
Back in Ancient India there were a lot of stories depecting deep philosophical observations so everyone can easily grasp .
Also during Buddhist periods there are Jataka Tales presenting usefull moral observations in a easy way.
Likewise we have many around the world in the past as well as present in
sublime ways. Philosophy when presented as a art seems so innocent but strikes the spark of thought that might ignite a moral or a guidance in needed times of life.
Also in organisations like Freemasonry objects from art and crafts were made use of as symbolism for deep spiritual facts .
Iam sure that if there is any particular philosophy that is affecting the media of today ,that would be materialism, the most impractical though a comfortable one in short term. We seem to heading back to animals as far as philosophy is concerned ... I cant say that even iam immune from it. Just an observation ...

He was (anyone can be), and he was heavily influenced by Neitzsche. (if you are looking for letter after a name - deeming someone a philosopher)

The Doors band name was a ripoff of a line from William Blake, whom is an even better example of what you are talking about, but I suspect "Too Old" for you...

I guess I would say "philosophy" in the context of various disciplines of thought/understanding old and new.

The Matrix was heavily influenced by Baudrillard's Simulacra and Simulation.
