View Full Version : How dumb is Google?!
Athelwulf 11-07-04, 03:37 AM http://sciforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3448&stc=1
This just makes me laugh.
Let's bash Google! This'll end up in the Cesspool, I'm sure. But I don't care, Google can't advertise for shit!
Ghost III 11-07-04, 04:41 AM thats like ebay, ebay has gone to the gutter i feel with all of the people who rip you off,
But what is the point of advertising crap
geodesic 11-07-04, 12:02 PM I'm not sure I want to know in what way a monkey can be 'used'
Athelwulf 11-11-04, 01:46 PM The only thing Google did right was Gmail. Their search engine is mediocre. Their advertisements are shitty. That's all there is to it.
This makes me laugh inside.
what don't you like about the search? I like it. what do you use?
since it is "google bashing" I guess I have to confess froogle is pretty stupid.
Athelwulf 11-11-04, 04:18 PM The search engine, cato, has the same kind of ads that they put in SciForums.
Right now, I see that they are advertising neurobiology and neuroscience info under my post. What the fuck?!
"The search engine, cato, has the same kind of ads that they put in SciForums."
Only like on the far right, I don’t see how that causes a problem? I can find things on google better than any other engine. What do you guys use?
Closet Philosopher 11-11-04, 04:46 PM Then the question arises: "What is the best search engine on the web?"
Athelwulf 11-11-04, 04:49 PM Google is, but that's not saying much.
Let's face it. Search engines are shitty.
goofyfish 11-11-04, 04:52 PM Dogpile (dogpile.com), MetaSearch, (metasearch.com) SWISH (http://homepage.mac.com/pauljlucas/software/swish) and a few applications that search WAIS and GOPHER databases for research.
:m: Peace.
I never really liked Google. I prefer AltaVista, AllTheWeb, or Search.MSN.com (MSN search without all the other crap). I find I get better results.
daguy... you really get better resaults with msn? I dont know how you search but I always get beter resaults with google.(used to use msn, until I figured out that I could always get better searches with google)
My Sexy Blue Feet 11-11-04, 07:02 PM I'm a www.hotbot.com fan.
Can't get enough of hotbot.
Gravity 11-11-04, 09:55 PM Probably any one of the search engines can give any of us far more info than we need. And when you get tuned into how to format your searches on a particular engine, it will become your favorite. But the fact is - in simple computational power, Google has FAR more storage space, bandwidth and CPU cycles at their disposal then any other search site does (so far at least) and so their searches will sift through more data than anybody elses (none of them search anywhere near ALL the web).
hotsexyangelprincess 11-11-04, 10:30 PM Google searches like 8 billion pages. thats a lot. :m:
RubiksMaster 11-12-04, 06:27 PM For web and image search I use Google. It is a very good search engine. I like the directory on google, where it has all the pages categorized. I don't know how anyone can dislike it.
Athelwulf 11-12-04, 07:06 PM Ah, ya finally came back on, RubiksMaster.
Google is the best search engine, but all search engines I've used are shitty.
And ya don't get how anyone can dislike it? Look at the picture I have in the first post. "New and used monkeys for sale". Come on.
RubiksMaster 11-14-04, 06:45 PM I guess you're right!
Athelwulf 11-14-04, 06:57 PM That's right, I am right.
. . . :D
Gravity 11-14-04, 07:16 PM Hmmmm. Graceful Athelwulf.
Athelwulf 11-14-04, 07:20 PM Yes. Yes it was.
Google can't advertise for shit!
Yeah, that must be why they have no plans to go public and instead spend forever sucking.
Wait, this just in, Google plans to go public with projections of a worth of at least 10 billion dollars! I blame it on their shitty advertisments!
