Is this the way to use it?

    Command Prompt

    1. Netstat or netstar -n before making a direct connection
    2. Write them all down then make a direct connection...write what down?
    3. Type Netstat or Netstar -n and find a ncw entry...what did they mean by that. whats amd ncw entry, or did they mean n.cw entry? dont know?

"Here comes the hacking pary, but they have to have a file or a printer sharing on their computer. Here's to see if they do..."

    4. At command prompt type NBTSTAT -a or is it -9? and then their (ip adress)
    ..."It should have a [ < > ]... <20> somewhere.
    5. Then type netview //ipadress...it should have a disk or printer name before it. Once you have the name of the printer or disk (usu. c:drive) --------.....what did they mean by that?
    6. Type Net use K (or any other letter)--> k://ipadress/name<---disk or printer.

I know how to use ms-dos prompt (quite well actually) but I wouldn't have thought it would be the best things for hacking (though I suppose it can be used).

MicroSoft(s) Disk Operating System is really what it says; a disk operating system. A program is needed to manage the processor, the memory, and everything else, which is what ms-dos is for. However I think the new windows versions don't even use ms-dos anymore.

This is about all I know Mr.NoExperience. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

have used msdos since 1984 but my son who is now 16 has used it since he was two and it led him to using linux.

win xp still uses dos, for networks its great to use because it bypasses any network limitations if they're restricted.
