I find lately that many topics that I want to know more detail about are not described on wikipedia. Does anyone know how to request an article? I can reach the request an article page but there is no clear way to add a request. Can someone explain it to me?

    Step 1: Go to library.
    Step 2: Read book.
    Step 3: Write article.

Can you give us an example of something that you want more information about and yet cannot find anything about it on the internet?

All, I'm trying to do is see if someone might know how to add the request to their request page. All I see is that there is a little Edit hyperlink at the right side of the page near each subject heading. But it simple opens a page with a input box such as this forum uses for posts and you appear to need to type in the name with some obscure two or three letter codes. It seems the wrong place to do it.

Do you know for sure that the article you want exists in Wikipedia?

One thing that sometimes occurs is that the topic I'm interested in isn't popular enough, or hasn't been researched thoroughly enough, to have its own Wikipedia article.

In this case there's still a chance that it might have been mentioned in passing in an article on a related topic. Now I have to be really clever and imagine what topics might refer to it, then start a search for those topics.

Or are you actually attempting to request that somebody else should write the article you want to read? Lots of luck with that!

As Chipz suggests, do as much research as you can and write the article yourself. Sure it will be small and it may contain some errors. But they have a team of editors with knowledge in almost every subject imaginable, and they review all new articles as quickly as possible. They'll find the weak spots in yours and flag them. If other people are interested in this topic, they will edit and correct your article.

I've only written four or five Wikipedia articles, but I have edited and corrected dozens of them, perhaps a hundred.
