How did you come up with your screen name?

I just wondered how all of you crazy kids (and adults) came up with your screen-names.

You would think with a name like "analbeads" that I'm probably some pervert or swinger or something, but actually it's much more simple than that. My cousin and I were canoeing last summer with a group of people, and we were really drunk, and he kept yelling "ANALBEADS!", and in my drunken state I thought it was hilarious. At any rate, for some reason I thought of that moment when I found sciforums, and now that's my name.

well, it all started in '98 playing diablo1, i called myself slayer_of_evil, that soon got shortened to slayer for simplicity, upon registering at websites i found that slayer was a very popular name and always taken, so i started adding a letter at the front of it or using x_slayer_x, but the letter was easier so when i got here i used my second favourite letter "V". so my username is vslayer, but you can call me slayer

 

I like hamsters as pets. One day I noticed that my Chinese hamsters and Russian hamsters both come from communist or ex-communist countries. The hamster in my avatar is a Chinese hamster called Yang and is curently asleep.

 

5 random letters which incidently makes 2 words, which when combined incidently fits a character I incidently was playing. A character which incidently always had an axe in his eeeh hand no matter what.

 

Well, I know that there was a thread with the same topic, but since I cannot find it anymore...

I needed a name for computer games, you know, you just need an alias, not cool playing with your real name. So, I started out with Kamikaze... but hey, that is not really a rare name people use in games (and I was mainly playing first-person-shooters and combat flight simulators), so after a brief period of being "Nameless" I thought that the name Dreamwalker would be fitting for virtual realities, and somehow that name stuck.

 

Mine is just really quick to type, and easy to remember 'cos i could'nt have the name i wanted here when i joined sciforums.

 

I kept typing names into a search engine until I found something that returned a lot of results....

 

It's easy, I'm an incarnation of a god in a human form.

 

"Athelwulf" is from my conlang, which I had started making a short while before I registered here. It translates to "noble wolf". The wolf is my favorite animal, and I like the idea of a wolf being noble. Since I registered here, I've been using "Athelwulf" for almost everything on the Internet.

The word itself is actually from a protoversion of my conlang. In my protoversion, it was spelt "Âðelwulf". Obviously, I couldn't very well have "Â" and "ð" in my username, so I transcribed them to "A" and "th". Thence, "Athelwulf". Since then, I've made modifications to my conlang (specifically, the orthography), and now the same word is spelt "Æþelwulf".

Charun is the demon who guards the entrance to the underworld and torments the souls of the dead...lol I adopted it in my more lifeless teenager years, when I had a lot of issues, but it's now just become my handle and since my emails the same I never bothered to change it

 

Well, mine is.......... well, the first time I came to this forums my head was so full of questions, thus I chose to choose a name with a 'curious' as a keyword. Back then I thought that the adj. curious has a noun counterpart: curiousity, and so I changed the s into c, and there you have it.

 

my friend and I were talking and I complemented her (in a sarcastic sense) by calling her a "Hot sexy angel princess". Then I thought it sounded funny, and used it as my name. :m:

 

I saw a list of Band Names that actually exist, and one of them was 'Fetus Fajitas'
Another i quite liked was 'Frogs Don't Cry' - it's quite random.

A lot of ppl are offended by my ScreenName though - understandably

 

I wanted to sound more intelligent than I am so I looked up some words in Latin.

It means human which is in existance. Either that or absolutely nothing

 

Ummm.. I closed my eyes and picked a Tolkien book (from many) from my shelf and opened to a page and the first name, place, or thing I came across was my name. I bet you cant guess what I came across.

 

Giant hairy balls of doom?...

But that name was too long so you choose Gondolin.

Damn I am good.
