"Two Subversion developers talk at google about how to keep pests and malcontents out of your open source projects. From the abstract: "Every open source project runs into people who are selfish, uncooperative, and disrespectful. These people can silently poison the atmosphere of a happy developer community. Come learn how to identify these people and peacefully de-fuse them before they derail your project. Told through a series of (often amusing) real-life anecdotes and experiences""

Poisonous people appear in all forms. After the recent baning I noticed a couple here in the Sciforums, so I thought I would share this Google vid with you so you can identify them more easly.

Well spotted. Although don't expect many responsive posts... now I've got to watch all of them :)

I guess the main problem people might have though is that Open Source involves people working towards a common goal and sciforums didn't originally have a common goal for people to get their teeth into. (although now there is the potential of the Encyclopedia)
