We've recently had 3 nasty quakes. Haiti seems to have been given the most aid. Should we do the same for Chile and Taiwan? Why or why not?

no because Haiti is strategically important for USA to install its political and military powers in the region against Cuba and Venezuela.

Meanwhile even if Chile or Taiwan had more deaths...that would not be beneficial. Taiwan is already under USA's wings and Chile does not got much to offer.

We should donate money to save lives, but once the life-saving stage is over then there shouldn't be too much money invested in these places. It's not good to make them dependent on foreigners, and I don't really want to pay for THEIR sewage system or whatever - I want to pay for the maintenance of the one at home.

    depends, do they need it?

BTW, why did Australia need to donate aid to the victioms of the trade towers atack and cyclone katrina?

the US should have the resorces to take care of its own citizans
