Do We Really Need God?

If there's no God...

Scientific VS. Religious

Burden of proof (God or No God)

God can exist

Completely Redundant and ridiculous

It is a very controversial issue! Also the idea of there being no god/gods is a relativity new idea to humanity. It is a debate I could go on with for hours. I am still not convinced either way. Also, supporters of both sides are equally as passionate, and sometimes neurotic, as the other.

Oh well, it is a very popular subject. You get a lot of extremes on this forum.

How many liberal vs. conservative threads will we have?
How many 'west' vs. Islam threads will we have?
How many objectivist vs. constructivist threads will we have?
How many conspiracy vs. 'not connected phenomena' threads will we have?
How many 'the mods fucked up' threads will we have?
How many complaint threads will we have?
How many consequentialist vs. deontologist threads will we have?
How many I am describing a unique experience vs. that's just psychobabble/mystical BS threads will we have?

Hell, maybe these are important controversies.
If you look at the issues raised in there you have some very basic at least seemingly opposed approaches beliefs systems interpretations mindsets. Wrestling with these issues could, perhaps be a good thing. Sciforums is a late joiner in these debates - as any internet forum would be.

These threads are easily avoided by those who think they are redundant.

There must be 50 ways to leave your thread-that-bothers-you.

Just one click, Dick. (really, I did not mean this to sound aggressive. I just want to join in Tiassa's line and I couldn't think of a name that rhymes with 'mouse')
OK. I found an online rhyming dictionary...

Use your mouse, Klaus.

After my first rather defensive post I realized that it is good to point out repetition. I think a useful way of doing this might be
next time you see a thread that seems to be like a number of other current or recent ones you could challenge the OP person what is different. I do think some of the, for example, atheist theist threads are unlike the others. The OPs are attempting to come at the debate from another angle. Unfortunately they tend to degenerate. OPs could also explain why they think this is a unique approach and try to hold that line.
