Yeah! How can I make them? :)
Is there any easy way to do it? Do I need to know about programming? Do I need to know Java scripting? Do I need to have LOTS of time? Is there someone that can make most of the work (the programming work) for FREE???

I love phpbb because of the expandability and the great support coming from the mod community. My board has been pretty heavily modded to add a bunch of great features. You can check it out if you want:

Invision Power Board is good also. Same requirements as phpbb:

Invision Power Board (http://www.invisionboard.com/)

You can see it in action on my website:
MPClans.com Forums (http://www.mpclans.com/forums)
You'll notice I added on a mod for members to download screenshots to the site for everyone to view (top left-hand side of forums, under the '-BFI- Screenshots Gallery' link)

Both phpbb and IPB are free, so you can't go wrong either way!

I have the ultimate in modded phpbb forums :D

http://www.mageacademy.com

The whole site is made using the phpbb templates (and some extra php coding)
Invision Power Board is good also. Same requirements as phpbb: But why pay for invision when phpbb does the same stuff for free... and has a whole site oh mods?

Although the hacks site is difficult to navigate. Why they don't link the hack discussion to the actual hacks is beyond me.

I suppose you have to buy it if you make any money off the site though (IE: ads)?

Otherwise the 'license' is kind of pointless.

What's the problem with ezboards?

If you didn't want to set anything up you could try www.conforums.com (which contain a heavy amount of ad's) or there is www.ikonboard.com.

As for the Licensing, it's dependent on if it's a company that has created the board or a project by a group of people under a GNU licence etc.

On the most part Licensing the board allows you to perhaps remove/alter the copyright to the extent of not having the boardtype, version and anchor to it's homepage seen. There is also the commercial aspect as mentioned, although it would be far more than advertisements, The most important part of the licensing is that it helps the boards to continue to be developed, so bugs get patched quicker and those with hte licenses get the updates faster and more support.

I actually like EZBoards. If I wasn't here, I would most likely be there.
