*groans* in one other Latvian forum that I'm reading there suddenly have appeared a few hollow earth zealots...... And I thought the last of them died out in the beginning of the last century...

http://skepdic.com/hollowearth.html

But it appears that there are many people who believe it still:

Apparrantly your 'friends' do not know that the study of earthquakes has revelaed that the structure of the Earths innards is solid. Pass them this link.

"An analysis of seismic waves released by a deep earthquake proves the Earth's core is a solid sphere"

A 'joke' site, whereas the hollow earth guys are for real :bugeye:

"The Flat Earth Society is not in any way responsible for the failure of the French to repel the Germans at the Maginot Line during WWII. Nor is the Flat Earth Society responsible for the recent yeti sightings outside the Vatican, or for the unfortunate enslavement of the Nabisco Inc. factory employees by a rogue hamster insurrectionist group. Furthermore, we are not responsible for the loss of one or more of the following, which may possibly occur as the result of exposing one's self to the dogmatic and dangerously subversive statements made within: life, limb, vision, Francois Mitterand, hearing, taste, smell, touch, thumb, Aunt Mildred, citizenship, spleen, bedrock, cloves, I Love Lucy reruns, toaster, pine derby racer, toy duck, antelope, horseradish, prosthetic ankle, double-cheeseburger, tin foil, limestone, watermelon-scented air freshner, sanity, paprika, German to Pig Latin dictionary, dish towel, pet Chihuahua, pogo stick, Golf Digest subscription, floor tile, upper torso or halibut...."

and

"After spending over sixteen million dollars and using over 48 thousand yards of industrial strength strapping tape, we of the Flat Earth Society were able to construct an enormously powerful neurotransmitter that can implant suggestions directly into the brains of the nearby non-Flat Earthers. Having set it up just outside of the Russian Antarctic exploration post (Vostok), we are awaiting word that all three scientists and 174 penguins have been shown the light"

funny tho :)

Very odd that earthquake sensors seem to say the exact oppsite isn't it? Very odd how the S waves and P waves act as they should if they Earth was not hollow and in fact made up of layers. Like this:
http://www.seismo.unr.edu/ftp/pub/louie/class/100/earth-layers.GIF
How P waves and S waves show that the structure of the Earth is NOT HOLLOW: http://www.gcsescience.com/pwav54.htm

Happy now? No, I imagine you will totally ignore the facts and continue with your unsubstantiated drivel.

The earth is not "hollow", yet it has an amazing amount of caverns and caves that make up hundreds of square miles of underground floor space. But the current tennents down there may not like us cave exploring much.

Whether its real or not it is an interesting subject to read about. The stories of Olaf Jansen and Rear Admiral (*giggle*) Byrd are especially good. And you can find them online, for Olaf JansenHere (http://www.ourhollowearth.com/PartOne.htm). But once you :) get into that, you have to get into the really interesting stuff about the Lemurians inside of Mt. Shasta with their connected tunnels. I'm not saying that I do or dont believe, I think that that would be something I would have to see for myself though. Interesting to ponder though...

Oh, ther ewas a picture, I want to post one too, :D

They (the modernist geologists) are liars.

1) It would be impossible for such a dense mass of material to exist as the supposed "Core" It would overheat and, exploding, cause the earth to burn like the sun.

2) The earth seems to be more like swiss cheese, with vast caverns beneath us housing many unknown waterways.

3) Volcanic activity is caused lava currents flowing through the hollow earth.

4) The Aurora Borealis is caused by the glowing embers and radiation of hollow earth, where the earth opens up in the North Pole.

5) Eyewitnesses include: Astronauts, Physicists, Russian Miners, Poets like Vergil and Dante, Oil Companies, highly ranked geophysicists, and even astrologers and mystics.

6) This theory is supported by biblical and religious tradition. Furthermore philosophers such as Plato assert this theory. Note also: Mystic visionaries such as little children at Fatima.

riku, Prince James,

I am tempted to put more credence in Hollow Earth theory than I once did.
I had many geology courses in college and suspect that
the scientists do not know as much as they claim about the interior of the earth.

Some caverns and waterways extend miles into the earth. Just recently a diver was killed in England while exploring at great depth.

Lawdog, you are in fact wrong about Dante. Presuming you have read the inferno (And hopefully the following two books as well), As he enters the cave after announcing that he has strayed from the path, it states that he enters into the spiritual realm, by no means did he state that there was a cave somewhere that lead to hell (the bible also does not state, or reimburse the idea of a hollow earth either?).

A solid core does not create a nuclear reaction unless it is of the proper size (requires a ridiculous ammount of pressure) and of the proper materials.

To throw this in as well, the Aurora Borealis is caused by radiation from the sun hitting the magnetic field around the earth

He (the modern Lawdog) is a liar
1) It would be impossible for someone with a brain to be so dense. Their head would implode.
2) Lawdog's head is more like a swiss cheese, with vast caverns housing .... well nothing really.
3) His apparent mental activity is actually only the sound made by the wind passing through those caverns.
4) The light in his eyes is a reflection of the startled expression of passers-by and not an indication that someone is at home.
5) Eyewitnesses include the entire forum.
6) This theory is supported by the Bible - Proverbs 26, verse 11 - As a dog returneth to his vomit, [so] a fool returneth to his folly.

how learned of you to read Dante. in several places in the poem however Vergil does assert that hell is or will become a physical place for the bodies of the resurrected dead.

Scientific info is interesting, however my doubt remains.

Disregarding the fundamentals of science is not yet a criminal offense, but perhaps it should be. You claim to have an open mind - I have taken that to its logical conclusion.
Although a little obvious I thought my spoof of your post was mildly amusing in structure. Try developing a sense of humour. You may find you are both more tolerable and tolerant that way.
When have I insulted you thus? In the quote above - "All modern geologists are liars." I mean, if you can call me a liar openly then I think I can poke a little fun at your quaint ideas, don't you?

First, can I just say that Ophi laid the smackdown on lawdog's punk ass, and it was fun to watch? Ophi, you're my hero, dude.

I am totally within the bounds of pseudoscience, which happens to be closer to where modernist science should be.

Yeah, let's just throw away the years of progress in favor of a nutjob who thinks the Earth is a chunk of swiss cheese that spews Demon-Hounds. Yup. Makes sense to me. And dude, "the bounds of pseudoscience" is an oxymoron; in science fiction, there are no boundries. I could say on this forum with full confidence that Earth was once ruled by the Unicorn Kingdom from the planet France. It would be alright for me to do so, because you couldn't prove me wrong. Hence, pseudoscience.

I never claimed to have an open mind, nor would I to heretics and atheists.

The most profound statement you have ever made in your entire life. You do not have an open mind. Absolutely, 100% correct.

I did not find it humour in good spirit. If it had been, you would also poke fun at yourself and others, instead of singling me out.

You really weren't expecting the legend to come out of hibernation and make you look like a tool, now were ya? I get a kick out of that, when the Big Dogs like Ophi and SkinWalker drop knowledge on the kooks.

This one is especially delicious because now Lawdog is limping like a hurt puppy.

I didnt say "all." Regardless if I call them liars, this is not an attack on their person individually.

Hey Ophiolite, remember when you and I had a similar conversation not two weeks ago? I'll handle this one, bro.

Dude, calling someone a liar is exactly a personal attack on them. You can't call someone a liar, or a theif, or a cheater, and not be making a significant judgement on their character. Unless you were joking...were you joking? I don't think so. It's funny, cuz you were all hellfire and brimstone a second ago, and now you're all like "Uh, that's not, like, really even, like, I mean, even, sorta, like, what I meant..."

I take it nobody's heard of Robert Rankin. The truth is, the earth is hollow with holes at the poles where you can parachute down to the inner earth. However, no holes have been found at our poles. That's because we are on the inner earth.

The sky is faked. The moon landing never happened - because there is no moon. And the people on the outer earth regularly poach humans for use in fancy restaurants. ;)

It doesn't just SOUND credible, it IS credible. Sources for the fake sky/fake moon theory include: The Beatles, Slipknot albums played backwards, my Mom, and the grey that landed in my backyard.

People need to stop pretending that the Earth isn't hollow. They're only kidding themselves, and spitting in the face of God, who lives in a condo just outside the fake sky. The fake moon is made out of rubber bands. Ironically enough, the fake sky is made out of cheese.
