Maybe, I am just being an paranoiac or need some self-Assurance but..

1 . What kind of grades did you guys get at High School (9-12th) and if there are any teachers that browse here, to be accepted in a good college - as they review you, do they determine whether you are accepted from the preperation test scores alone or is it a combination between that and the grades? Do they look at other things like attendance, behavior, etc.

    2. What was your Major? and What did you end up becoming?

    3. How much money do you need for your tuition, books, etc.

Is there just any websites that cover this + more in general? I tried looking, but kept finding off-topic things.

    4. ( I kinda fucked up 9th grade with Straight F's (Only passed because of my Fcat Scores), I am in 10th grade and only have 4 credits.. You can say I was pretty misguided last year, can I realistically do the whole 'good college' thing.. If I'm going to go to some bullshit tech', I might as well know now.. Get a G.E.D or something and start at an Technical Institute )

And If anyone cares, the reason I failed the whole 9th grade and 1/4 of 10th grade is basically because I had put the "High" in Highschool. Now though, I feel I am forthcoming actualization and am getting my shit together.

    Heed It....

Dude. I have found myself in the same situation that you are in. I Fucked up Freshman year, and didnt fair to well all the other grades. As of now I am a Senior struggling for just enough credits to get by. It seems that you have dug yourself into a pretty bad situation. The only advie that I can give you is to get your work done, get those credits anyway you can. That may include summer schooling or even night school. Trust me friend, dont turn out like I have, Miserible, Struggling, and tired of life. Get those credits.

    Good Luck,

    -Guyute

    1. I made a " B- " average, about 3.0 or less during those year. It depends on which college that you go to as to what they really look at. So if your thinking of going to a very high priced college get all your grades and be there everyday for they look at everything. If , on the otherhand, you attend a state college or not so pricey school then just keep your grades up. If you get an "A" average or better you could get a scholastic scholarship which pays your way through college.

2.I majored in business and computers.

    3. It depends on the college/ univercity that you attend. You must call them or write to them to find that information out.

    4. You must go to the college that you want to know about to get all the information that you seek. You must enter the name of the exact college that you need to get the information from in order to get the low down on anything about that campus.

As I understand it, most colleges actually look at your transcripts, not just your GPA, so if you failed ninth grade but showed consistent improvement since then, especially if you do very well your junior year, it shouldn't hurt you too much for most colleges. There may be some however, that only look at your transcript if your GPA is above a certain level.
Basiclaly, if you're able to get good grades for the rest of high-school, or reasonably good grades and extremely good test scores, you can probably still go to a good college.

You need to stop smoking so much weed. However, I know someone who gets high and still does better than you did.

In HS.. .my average was an 89.4%. I didn't even try. I mean, I got a 70 and 74 in honors biology and averaged a 76 in spanish. I took 4 semesters of spanish and 2 of bio... with a total of 36 semesters... this means everything else averaged to 92.3%...

My major is mathematics. I am a freshman in college... so I didn't even start yet.

I pay $2400 per semester at Georgia State. I want to transfer to GaTech. w00t.

Why get a GED? Just graduate high school.. the GED is harder to get than a HS diplomia. For one, in most HSs you don't have to try and still get the damned peice of paper. A GED you need to study hard for on your own time... just let people force it on you... 4 years is not very long and it is more fun

In general through grade nine and ten my school's averages were...

    sciences: 72%
    humanities: 75%
    english & math: 73%
    other: 77%

So yeah, in general marks were around a low-to-mid B (in the TDSB an A is 80-100..... no, this does not mean that because your 'A' was from 90-100 you had it harder, it means that what a '90' means to you is what an '80' means to us). For these years my average was always around an 87 or so.

Then something happened. Ontario use to have a grade 13 - OAC. Then they decided to drop it starting the year before me. So, all of us in my age and a year up were basically fucked. Lawrence Park (my school) had done an extremely shitty job of adjusting. Consequently, what was rated one of the top academic public schools in the TDSB took a nosedive. A bit less than half the people I know at the school have failed a subject.

So, for grades 11 and 12 (first term of it, anyway)....

    sciences: around a 70%
    humanities: 74%
    english: 74%
    Data Management (easy math): 76%
    Calculus: 68%
Discrete&Geo: 60% (maybe, on the outside. One of the kids in this class got the fourth highest possible score on the ontario math competition and he's getting a 78%. I thank god I didnt take it! Quote the teacher: "If you took this class it's because you like math, not because you want to get to credit. You should expect to have a very likely chance of failing")
    other: 72%

Now, this doesn't seem so bad, except.... To get into any of the higher ranked Canadian Universities you need at least an 80% average in your last year. In fact, I think there was only four or so Ontario Universities with acceptance averages last year in the seventies. Of course, community college is still an option - but you try telling 200 upper-middle class white kids they're going into a trade.

Oh, just in case you want to know..... The average I get to put forward to uni's is 92%

    Philosophy: 96%
    Writer's Craft: 94%
    English: 92%
    Economics: 92%
    Drama: 90%
    World Politics: 88%

only advice to give you, relax.

highschool is alot of fun as im sure you learned freshman year.

im a sophomore too, b average, with all my teachers and guidance conselors telling me if i dont do better, then i'll go to a bad college, get a bad job, and die poor and lonely in a box behind K-mart.
    i dont belive em.

just take it easy, and take what comes to you. if you do bad in school, dont worry, you can have a good life without going to Princeton.

    420Joey .......

By the way one thing you should do is check your spelling. The word "career' is spelled with one "r" not two so be careful when you write in school for spelling is important.

Wow, about time. So have you given up being a stoner too?

'Cos if you're not going to give up the weed, you might as well just go buy a broom, and learn how to use it, 'cos that's all your career will amount to.

Anyways, I am sure there are sucessful people that smoke weed (look at the retired CEO from progressive, god-damn billionaire) but I believe it is intefering in my work. Let's say I do really good.. Straight A's my Junior year and Senior year, but I Failed my Ninth and Tenth.. Do they really care when they look through the transcripts if there is such a significant change? ..

Blahh... I'm pretty confused in what kind of career I wan't to pursue.. Hopefully me being sober will help make it easier.

I know many successful people who use pot or alcohol regularly, so I have to disagree here. (This is not to say I condone drug use but that I detest poor logic.)

You need 24 credits to complete Highschool. You recieve .5-1.5 credits (depending on what class you take) when you pass that particular class. If you were to fail, you would recieve no credit, thus wasting an oppurtunity to gain a credit. In my case I lost the possibility to get 10 credits, which is pretty bad. If I fail one more class, I have to get held back and do additional classes to recieve the credits I need to complete Highschool. :m:

At least when I find a mistake I made I try to fix it as I have done. I wasn't trying to pick on your ability to spell as much to see whether or not you'd go back and fix your mistake.
