I have this massive project in brit lit, it's due quite a long time from now, but I still need to start up. It's called "The Civics Project," and I think that I basically need to educate people on a particular subject. I think it can be anything. Trouble is, I can't seem to figure out what I want to do. I've been thinking about working on the chomskian media craze, if you want to call it that, but to do such a thing would probably be very challenging and very encompassing, I guess.

Any suggestions? I'm open to most things....

Make your paper about political statements throughout time. It would be very interesting, id want to read it though.

Are you looking for topics under British Literature? Or any old topic?

I'd say do something on the use of drugs by various musicians and artists, and writers. It would enlighten people, especially if you covered someone famous, and your audience didn't know they used or something like that.

Aldous Huxley used mescaline. Wasn't he british?

Drug use in ancient religions. If you have a prude teacher this is a great topic to piss people off.

I don't know if I want to do drugs. I'm not a drug user and I don't want to give people the wrong impression.

I'm thinking about doing something related to bureocracy, in local governments, because that's the whole reason we're doing this whole thing. Does anyone have any suggested readings?

And no, the topic can be anything, grazz. I do really want to piss them off, that would make my entire schoolyear if I "took it to the legislators." They really piss me off. And everyone else.

Oh well.

Organize a "field trip" to the board of education office and do a report breaking down the school's expenses in the last year....I'm sure you'll find some nifty surprises, my school spent $20,000 each for 5 to areation machines for the football field, which was put in incorrectly so it's always sogging wet!

My shool has a website where you can access the board of education meetings including the school budget and what they spend it on...I can even find individual teacher's salaries. A report on that would be fun :)

Yeah, we spent the entire budget for portfolios, or as they're casually referred to as "those motherfucking pieces of motherfucking shit that we fucking have to deal with or we don't fucking graduate the stupid motherfuckers" on a pizza party. A PIZZA PARTY!!!!! GAHH! IT MAKES ME INSANE!!!

Bureocracy is everywhere. I hope I spelt that right. And that too.
