Don't most other nerds like the beauty and elegance of binary and hexadecimal, compared to the rather ugliness of decimal? Sure, decimal seems to work for basketball players and bowling, but overall hexadecimal would be better as a general purpose radix. You can even use it for time (four hex digits in a day, see http://intuitor.com ), but that's not even decimal anyway.

Why does hexadecimal system make more sense? I can see the advantage and simplicity of binary, but given the choice between base-10 and base-16 system, I would choose base-10. Easier for children to learn (10 fingers, 10 toes). I still can’t get over this: 1MB = 1024 bytes!

Oh yeah, you’re the self-declared proud geek who started the thread: “Is there any reason to let non-geeks live”.
What’s wrong Fen? Did the last girl you asked to dance turn you down? Is your wrist cramping up?
I guess you’re too insecure to live in the real world, so you isolate yourself in a digital world. How pathetic!

The real world is digital--everything indicates the workings of the world are determined and quantized. Did you know that DNA is quaternary (a step between binary and hexadecimal)? As for personal questions, you don't even know if I'm a girl or guy (or if I'm gay or hetero for that matter)--personal questions are irrelevant.

Aren't you the one who said, "Females really have no place in the future." so I figured you're a guy and I also figure you're a very lonely person. I mean if you ever do go out with your buddies or (God forbid) girls, do you always talk like that? When and if you're going to have sex (with a woman, man, animal, whetever), you're probably going to be thinking of the chemical and biological reactions. "Personal questions are irrelevant" - what are you, Borg?

You're not gonna get me. If you want to, search and I might have left some personal details, but that is irrelevant. What do personal details have to do with the fact that hexadecimal is far more logical to use than decimal?

You turned this personal with your “shower chamber” comment, which has nothing to do hexadecimal or decimal. Instead of debating or prooving your point, you make a stupid immature remark. Your posts are mostly personal and not at all logical. You started a whole thread questioning the life value of non-geeks. You don’t support your statements with any logic or scientific reasoning, example: “Females really have no place in the future”. The posts that I read from you are purely emotional and generated by someone who is shallow minded and deeply insecure.
oh, and I'm not out to "get" anyone.
