I'm gearing up to take the American Mathematics Contest.

I'm pretty sure I won't place extraordinarily high; I would just like to see how well I can do.

If you have a website that you always go to concerning the following topics, please post. Also, I'm in 10th grade, so any refresher courses pre-calc would also be nice.

Single Variable Calculus
Multiple Variable Calculus
Linear Algebra
Partial Differential Equations
Methods of Approximation
Probability and Statistics
3 Dimensional Geometry

Hey Tetra,

May I suggest a few books?

The best single variable calculus book I've come across is by Michael Spivak. It should actually be titled, "Intro to Analysis".

My favorite textbook on Linear Algebra is by Gilbert Strang. He is outstanding! He teaches at MIT. You may "sit in" on his Linear Algebra classes at; http://web.mit.edu/18.06/www/

BTW, did you know that MIT is in the process of putting a vast number of freely available courses on the Internet? So much mathematics to learn and so little time in life!

A good book on methods of approximation is titled Numerical Methods That Work by Foreman Acton. I love the way this guy writes.

I wish you the best of luck,
Michael

thank you!

I can't believe that MIT is doing this, this is amazing.

I'm going to tell everybody I know about those lectures, they are <i>very</a> informative.
