Is there anything that will remove black sharpie from a CD? It's on the side with the labels and stuff, not the side with the music. Just a name scribbled in black sharpie on the slick yellow side of the CD, and I want to get it off! How can I do it? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Isopropyl ("rubbing") alcohol might do it... Or WD-40 lubricant I will not, of course, accept blame if either of these somehow renders the thing useless. They shouldn't ,since you wouldn't be applying them to the "recorded" side... But then again, why bother if it isn't interfering with playing the thing?
Killjoy - As it happens, rubbing alcohol worked perfectly! Thanks very much for the suggestion. To everyone else - It was nothing serious, but I think my CD just looks better without "LAUREN!" scribbled over the top of it. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Anything you use will probably ruin the c.d., i.e., it won't play. The data on a c.d. is actually on the back of the label: it is not on the other side. The shiny material that can be seen is the back of the label, that contains the data. The c.d. itself is just a clear peice of plastic. What is sharpie?? That's also good for mild acne...Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! BillClintoncigar, sharpie is a famous permanent marker and it is quite distinctive in it's appereance. Probably everyone here has used one.
