I must be going through a phase or something, but I can't keep myself from bidding on stuff.

It's not as if any of the things I've bought recently are necessary. Brake cables for my bike - that's about it.

I bought a bullhorn - why? WTF do I need a bullhorn for?
Half the reason it appealed was because of the Chinese seller's description of the item.
"Lightweight and portable, perfectly for a talk or speech in meeting, assembly, propaganda...etc"

I bought a shit jump bike frame, although the one I've got is perfectly fine, I'm not planning to build a new bike anytime soon and if I did I'd need the rest of the bits off a bike to make it.

What's worrying me is the auctions that haven't ended yet. If I win those things are going to get a little expensive!

nope, ive been registered on the local equivalent of ebay since 2004 and only made 50 trades.

not sure about ebay, but i know on the site i use you can contact the seller and ask them to withdraw your bid before the auction ends.

I can afford it, for now anyway, so it's not that much of a problem. It's just annoying, though. I don't buy stuff in the shops so easily, but sitting here in my comfort zone and clicking a button instead of dealing in cash is too easy.

I didn't win the GPSr I was after, which is a little disappointing as some bastard used a last second bid thing. I was looking forward to trying out geocaching

I'm not too sure. I had visions in my head of standing on a step, a little higher than everyone else and talking passionately about something. A Chinese guy telling me that I had the power to spread propaganda gave me a lift. Other than that, I liked the idea of scaring the shit out of my friends with it and saying "This is the police!". It comes with a wristband thing so I thought I could maybe attach it to a belt and try to look important.

doesn't Scotland want to be independent from England or something like that? So you would have enought to shout about...

Edit: back to topic: No, I don't know how you feel for I have only twice bought something over ebay (or equivalent): old pc games

Ditto me. I'll even change religion for money. Lutheran, Shi'ite, JW, whatever. It's all good if Geoff gets thu green.

I also suggest that Phonetic turn his finances over to me.

    Peace,

    Geoff
