Steve McQueen and Tom Laughlin, but I was really little and didn't appreciate who they were. Also James Doohan, and my husband met George Takei. Alice Cooper, Stuart "Adam Ant" Goddard, Bill Graham, and Bill Clinton. (I almost ran him over. He was cool about it, though. Yes, this was while he was president.)

I met the majority of the 1996 New York Yankees. I went to a lot of games that year and managed to snag a whole bunch of autographs. They were really awesome guys.

I also met Tom Hanks once. That was great. Cool guy. Back when he did "Bosom Buddies" and such.

I live in the same neighbourhood as a bunch of celebrities, but I have never met any of them.

i met all the Ghostbusters during my fieldtrip and their filming of the Ghostbusters sequel movie at the statue of Liberty where they get handed the key to the city for saving it. Producers ended up not using the cuts at all and went with an alternate ending. I guess because we 6th graders were being really bad ruining films from the helicopter.

Once I met the Queen, and a guy walking by asked:
"Who is that old lady next to Syzygys?"

Three US Presidents, the brother of a fourth one, Coretta Scott King, The Prince and Princess of Wales and other members of their family, Margaret Thatcher, Bruce Willis, Patrick Swayze, plus another couple of dozen of lesser ones, dozens of politicians etc etc. All of them quite ordinary in person.

That's what surprised me about Clinton. He actually saw the humor in the potential for being run over by a Yugo with all the crap going down in (former) Yugoslavia. When he found out I'd voted Republican in the election, that just made it all the funnier. He was the sort of guy you'd run into (no pun intended) at any bar.

Later I wondered what sort on conspiracy theories might have abounded if I'd actually scored him. Something about a second Yugo coming in off of grassy knoll...

I haven't met any per se. The only celebrities I've actually met are only celebrities in small circles.

I did get within about 10 feet of Ozzy Osbourne, and I came inches away from giving Glenn Tipton (guitarist for Judas Priest) a high five.

Speaking of running over people, I know someone who almost ran over Derek Draiman (singer from Disturbed). I didn't believe him until he showed me the picture of them all standing in front of his car.

    EDIT:
Wait! I just remembered that I met Carlos Mencia last year. I got his autograph, and I complemented him on his show. Right after that, I realized I should have told him "hey, you're pretty funny for a spic," just to make fun of him in his own style. Too bad I didn't think of that sooner. Oh well, at least I met him and got his autograph.

Auditioning for legends of the fall - when I was 9 or so - I met Anthony Hopkins.

Didn't know who he was and wasn't interested in getting to know him

He seemed like your average old guy.

Shouldn't this be in the religion section?

I've not seen anyone here mention they met the Pope, nor some infamous Cardinal who raped some kid, so explain why you think this should be in the "religious section?"

I know were your coming from, regardless though just because these people are famous, or those who are, they are not worshiped! See anyone here mentioning that they met Jesus Christ?

During the course of my business I met loads of celebrities, most were regular customers. I can't remember all of them but here goes:

Helen Mirren, Liam Neeson, Tim Hardin, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor, Norman Watt Roy, Pete Townsend, Nick Beggs, Rodney Bewes, Davey Jones, Roger Waters, Harold Innocent, Penelope Keith, John Bird, Dave Allen, Rory Gallagher, Denis Thatcher, Holly Johnson, David Cassidy, Julie Walters, Noel Redding, Brian Robertson, Overend Watts and last but not least Brian Cox.

Oh yes, how can I forget the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew head of the Orthodox church.
