Found some photographs of a persian gulf region airbase.
Any one with military experience who can judge whether or not the june 13 photograph looks like an airbase that will be going to war in 2 months?

m0rl0ck - I don't know enough to comment on the situation (nor do I care to) but if you're looking for confirmation, I'd go look at some other unconnected but reliable sites. :)

Whereas it is not possible for any of us to authenticate the assertions of the piece, I would be surprised if secret operations have not been taking place in and around Iraq for quite some time.

I can imagine that is why Saddam is putting more sound bites than usual out on the airwaves. And why he seems to be digging in, in town, instead of going to the 'burbs to try to defend himself.

Then again, he may be planning on sacrificing the 'burbs for his greater glory?

Debka.com seems to be a couple of days at least ahead of the mainstream media.

Yes, go to abcnews.com, they just aired a segment Wednesday night showing the expansion of various airbases, specifically Qatar. These occurances were reported a while ago in Debka.

Now, one news source is saying that the U.S. already has troops on the ground in Iraq...

Seems odd that CNN wouldn't mention it, though. They're not exactly good at keeping secrets. :p

I guess so, but if the U.S. has several thousand troops INSIDE Iraq -- and is in the process of building 5 or 6 airbases INSIDE Iraq, that seems newsworthy.
