What ever happened to Harsh Realm? I've read it that the show is going to be canceled. If so, why? I had gotten the hang of it until the network didn't air any.

I heard it got cancelled. It really was on a bad night. People tend to go out on Friday nights.

I tried to watch it, but I didn't find that realm particularly "harsh". Maybe a little tough, but not "harsh". I don't know how well Chris Carter is associated with genuine fights for survival, but he should have used writers who were more accustomed to violence.

The X-Files was on Friday nights for several years.

It was also on when the economy was in a bit of a slump and nobody had money to go out. I'm not saying it's a positive connection, but X-Files also had the elements of mystery and paranoia, prime fodder for TV. Harsh Realm didn't carry the same sense of "what the hell...?", nor did it have the same level of sexual tension. As I recall, the two leads were guys (at least in the ones I saw). Granted, sexual tension there would have gotten noticed! ;)
