I've got a question. I've got a laptop and a desktop. Is it possible to use the resources of the two computers at one time? Or, contribute the resources of my laptop into my more powerful desktop? Any ideas?

It really is dependant on what you want to achieve.

I mean you could learn how to parallel process, and then have the machines work out some problem.

Perhaps run multiple instances of SETI or The Cure for Cancer screen saver, or better still find a friend and get a LAN game up and running.
