so i have a problem, my computer is connected to the internet. Winamp, win media, counter-strike, bulletproof ftp, and kazaa all connect to the internet and i can access all of these. But when i got to use AIM or Internet explorer neither work. Did some setting somehow get changed, is it a virus? any help wold be awesome.

What kind of internet connection? A Lan needs no settings at all. Usualy.

Virus: check for yourself. Google Housecall or www.free-av.com

It sounds weird to me, how do you connect? Do you dial up? If you do then IE should be doing that for you, try looking in tools>internet options then clicking on the conections tab, the isp your using should be there.
You could try reinstalling IE and seeing if that makes a difference but as A4Ever said your post is too vague to make a proper diagnosis

Try turning off Kazaa......there could be a virus in the shared folder and also Kazaa takes up a bulk of your connection so thats why Explorer maybe loading up quite slowly.

umm I am on a t3 at college so i never needed to actually set it up. It still dosent work with kazaa off. I tried my virus program and it didnt find anything. I would try google house call but i cant get there. umm I hope that helps. Any more ideas would be awesome.
