G'day, I thought I should just pen a quick intro about yours truly as I intend, now that I've found a damn good forum, to post here quite often.
I've been looking for a good forum for quite a while now and it seems that this is most definitely it, not only does it seem to contain a wide range of topics and views, but the people posting seem to have a passion of sorts regardless of which side of the debate they follow.
These are all the ingredients required for a good forum and I very much look forward to sharing my collective knowledge and in turn look forward to learning from others.
I live in Melbourne, but was born in Birmingham UK, I've traveled rather extensively and always on a shoestring having to take some god-awful jobs on occasions to facilitate survival.
I love IT as it is the epitomy of our advancement as a species, why wouldn't I revel in our latest achievements? That's not to say that I consider our species civilized, generally speaking.
My other interests lie in anthropology, semiotics, the study of evolution in general, trying to suss out the rules by which our universe operates, and trying to get my head around what existed before the big bang, in what and why. I've done a lot of study into universal dynamics and tried to map out some constant truths /rules by which all things must abide from a micro to a macro level.
I haven’t really got very far for as many questions as I seem to satisfy myself that I've answered only give rise to twice as many more.
I like to think there's a reason for our existence, and I really don't believe in coincidence.
I find Redfield’s "celestine prophecy interesting reading as it quite closely represents what I think our place is.
Anyhow, hope I haven’t bored you too much and as said, I look forward to getting to know some of the people posting here over time.
Markus.
