Avatar 06-08-05, 03:06 AM neocron but it's different as I've heard wow is the best FieryIce 06-08-05, 09:35 AM The game by Blizzard called Diablo, Diabl 2 and Diablo Lord of Destruction is multiplayer online at Battlenet or host your own game on your own computer. Combine 06-08-05, 11:01 AM i have seen diablo 2 before ill look in to it curioucity 06-08-05, 11:54 AM In case you're a great surfer, try Warcraft 3 and play the cutom maps. My friend and I got caught in the DotA (Defense of the Ancients) fever for a few weeks back ^_^ Gondolin 06-08-05, 12:00 PM Guild Wars. I swear by this game. Arditezza 06-08-05, 01:13 PM Guild Wars is a great game. It's got a lot to do, a neat storyline and great cut-scenes. If you aren't into PvP, however the game gets old fairly quickly after you level out. http://www.guildwars.com Retail Price: $49.99 Monthly Fee: Free World of Warcraft is amazing, if you have the video card and machine to support it. It's really beautiful, the characters are rich and different and the quests and instances are really great. The camaraderie in the game is incredible, especially on the Normal servers. http://www.worldofwarcraft.com Retail Price: $49.99 Monthly Fee: $14.95 (First 30 days free) Diablo and Diablo 2 are okay, but the community is full of skript kiddies and people who farm equipment and gold all day to sell it for real money. The "free" part draws anyone and everyone, so you kinda get what you pay for. http://www.blizzard.com Retail Price: $29.95 with expansions Monthly Fee: Free Everquest II is Everquest with better graphics. Not much has changed, and it's still a huge time sink for little rewards it's always been. I played EQ for 3 years, but only played EQII for 3 months until I realized I was just doing it all over again. http://www.eqlive.com Retail Price: $24.99 Monthly Fee: $14.99 (First month free) EVE Online is an interesting addition to the mmo genre, as it's kind of a space exploration and conquering game you can play with or against others. It's community is a little hostile for my tastes, but if you like fighting it can be a lot of fun. http://www.eve-online.com/ Retail Price: $19.95 Monthly Fee: $14.95 (First 30 days free) Anarchy Online is based on a different world entirely and it is definitely based in the cyberpunk type setting. It's a lot of fun, and there is plenty to do. You can now play the base part of Anarchy Online for free with no monthly charge, so the price is right. http://www.anarchyonline.com Retail Price: Free (Extra for expansions) Monthly Fee: Free for base game. Dark Ages of Camelot is a fun game, with lots of things to do and lots of people to meet. I found the character classes a little restrictive, but it's still fun. The crafting system is good, and the community is solid and friendly. http://www.daoc.com Retail Price: $16.99 (without expansions) Monthly Fee: $12.95 (First 30 days free) Matrix Online is surprisingly fun, despite the numerous bugs. I've really enjoyed the people in the game, and the community is really great. The world is rich, and the storyline and world events are really great for the storyline. http://www.matrixonline.com Retail Price: $29.99 Monthly Fee: $14.95 (First 30 days free) City of Heroes is a frigging incredible game, with a wonderful character create. If you've ever dreamt of being a superhero, flying through the air, kicking villain butt... this is definitely the game for you. http://www.cityofheroes.com Retail Price: $49.99 Monthly Fee: $14.99 (First 30 days free) A Tale in the Desert is another mmo, but of a different variety. There is nothing to kill, you just run around building Egypt through civilizations with other citizens. You can advance in ranks be participating with others and can even become Pharaoh. It's a fun game if you have a lot of time to kill and enjoy people a whole lot. http://www.atitd.com Retail Price: Free Download (Free to try for 7 days or 24 playing hours) Monthly Fee: $14.95 Saga of Ryzom is a crafting based mmo that centres around building your character and community more than it focuses on fighting and equipment. It's interesting and weird, but that's what you get from the French. Retail Price: $49.99 Monthly Fee: $14.95 (First 30 days free) These are the ones I've personally played so I feel I can give an objective view. I'm a pretty avid gamer, with a personally built PC that is built for heavy gaming, so if these games are graphic intense on older machines, I can't vouch for it. You should see the system requirements before buying any game.
