Hi guys. Im going to a tech school to get a degree in Computer Graphic Design. Now Im learning a lot, sure yeah. But my main concern is that I wont be able to get a job. Now Im wondering should I of gotten a Computer Networking Degree?

Money is somewhat of an issue here. I know that CNA makes more then a graphic desing person does right out of school. But its only 25% of the problem, the rest is wither or not IL be able to get a job right out of school.

I mean I dont know what they do (I have some Idea) but it would help if you told me what they have to do. And what they have to know. Maybe Im qualified for it I dont know....I do know linux thats just about it. Well what do they have to know?

You'll make more money with a graphics design major. I believe the field that makes the most money is web design. I used to attend an art school, until I got fed up with it and went to the U to study philosophy. You should have no problem getting a job with an arts degree. It is a field in demand.

Actually you should still be able to make money, the real question is what sort of CAD can you do.

For instance a project my Father recently forked out for was a 3D version of a prototype he wanted build, he forked out £20,000 ($30,000) for it and no way did it take a year to get drawn.

As for networking, your only as good as your experience with that networking software. So for instance I could be being paid for running a Unix network, and then suddenly the boss decides "We are changing to Solaris" that pretty much means I would have to learn a whole new network or lose my job.
